On this weekends broadcast of Fox News Sunday, President Donald Trump said he opposed renaming military bases that were named for Confederate leaders.

My ancestors are from upstate NY, both sides of the family.
I have lived all of my adult life in Virginia immersed in the history here.
It pains me to see that history destroyed.
It’s also painful to see ignorant posts by freepers that we shouldn’t have bases named after traitors.
The men who were being shot at by them did not even regard them as traitors.

I love Trump too but I believe the biggest pay raise came under Reagan. I remember between 1980-82 we got an 18% raise.
Same thing with 2A matters. Our guys could be slamming a bill a day requiring citizens to own and know how to operate a firearm, require gun safety courses in all high schools, tax breaks for taking specific courses, etc., etc.
It doesn't matter if one of them passes or not. Put them out there and let the commie democrats spend time and money fighting them.
The Republicans only know how to react. They have absolutely no understanding of directing the fight.
The GOP is in their own way every bit as pathetic as are the socialist democrats.

In terms of percentages that may be true, but in terms of actual money in my paycheck, God Bless Gerald Ford. He signed a pay raise where the percentage of increase was tied to rank. Lowest ranks got the highest raise. Prior to Ford, I was paid in cash every two weeks, I think it was like $175. After Ford they started issuing checks, my pay nearly doubled.
A few years ago we visited the Appomattox Court House.
Talking with others inline, they said they lived in the area, I ask if they came here often?

Thought that was the funniest line of the interview, which became moderately contentious at times. Wallace could have caused a big dustup by interjecting the "r" word and using it against Trump but he instinctively knew that Trump has thrived when this tactic has been tried against him often in the past. We may not have heard the end of this from the nitwits on the left, though.
Trump has been explaining for weeks why he opposes the base name changes. It's not to honor the Confederate generals, but rather to preserve the history of the bases in preparing American servicemen for their combat activity in WWI and WWII.
Same holds true for Lincoln's second inaugural speech: very magnanimous toward the dying Confederacy.
And the same holds true in Grant's acceptance of Lee's surrender at Appomattox
Unlike a lot of RINOs looking for pats on the head from their Leftist friends at the country club and unlike Neocons who are just warlike Leftists, Trump actually gets it. Its our history. Wallace, at least asks intelligent questions. I think Trump enjoyed talking to a non-lobotomized leftard for a change. Still a leftard, though.

I'd agree with Trump that Wallace, though he denied it, tends to be pro-Democrat, so he had some disagreements with Trump over some things, like whether Biden endorsed defunding of police. Turns out that Wallace today acknowledged that Biden did that but it was not included in the Biden-Sanders agreement. But Wallace gave him a tough time about it. Trump and Wallace also disagreed about the death rate of COVID in the US as compared to other countries. At one point Kayleigh McEnany came to Trump's aid by producing a statistical sheet supporting the relative low death rate in the US.
I don’t really wanna watch it unless someone tells me Trump kicked ass rather the media narrative that it was very bad. ;d
