Petition urges Trader Joe's to change ethnic food labels

In the latest call to re-name racially-charged brands and logos, nearly 1,000 people have signed an online petition urging the retail giant to rename products labeled "Trader Ming's," "Trader José," or "Trader Giotto's" to refer to Chinese, Mexican or Italian food, respectively, SFGate reported.

It all comes down to racism. If whites leave urban areas (white flight) for the suburbs, it’s racist. If whites move into urban areas (gentrification) that’s racist too. Everything white people do is ‘racist’. It really is quite simple when you get down to it.

At some point (and it may be now) the racist label is going to lose its sting. And that, of course, would be racist as well.

When I eat Mexican Food, I love to use either Cholula Picante Sauce or Tapatio. These are the prefered hot sauces of Mexican People and are made in Mexico (at least Cholula is). Here are their logos:

So Chinese food having a Chinese brand name is now racist. Mexican food having a Mexican brand name is now racist. Italian food having an Italian brand name is now racist.

The level of insanity from the Left continues to reach new heights, unabated. A lot of restaurants are going to have to be changing their names, too. I’m sure that’s next.

Same happened in Los Angeles after the Rodney King riots - the big supermarkets that had all been looted and burned chose not to return or rebuild.

The local pols - of all colors and sizes - declared those grocery chains that didn’t want to be burned and looted repeatedly as racist, bigoted and xenophobic- and called those burned out areas “food deserts.”

For years I passed a burned-out KFC that sat on an empty weedy lot.
