In the latest call to re-name racially-charged brands and logos, nearly 1,000 people have signed an online petition urging the retail giant to rename products labeled "Trader Ming's," "Trader José," or "Trader Giotto's" to refer to Chinese, Mexican or Italian food, respectively, SFGate reported.

Way to control businesses,
WE CAN DO THE SAME BY BOYCOTTING THOSE BUSINESSES WHO PANDER AND KNEEL. They have more to lose with the majority
Wow. 1000 people. Of whom only 10 aren’t bots. Businesses shoyld learnto ignore internet feedback. It’s 90% bogus bots and fake indentities.
In 2014, Trader Joes was in negotiations to open a new store in Albina. The Portland Development Commission, the citys urban-renewal agency, offered the company a steep discount on a patch of land to entice them to seal the deal. But the Portland African American Leadership Forum wrote a letter protesting the development, arguing that the Trader Joes was the latest attempt to profit from the displacement of African Americans in the city.
Because it represented hated "gentrification" - TJ's pulled out of the deal - better to leave it as a weed-filled lot in a blighted area than try to bring businesses and jobs into the area.

Wow, now I have learned that imagining international versions of the titular “Trader Joe” is wrong. I have also learned that Chinese, Mexican, and Italian are “races”.
Thanks Wokepocalypse!
Woke corporate execs should be required to wear dunce caps—so we know who they are...
;-)
I remember that story about Trader Joe’s in Portland. It’s hard to believe, that the black “leaders”, preferred to have a vacant lot adding to the blight in a distressed area, rather than an actual chain grocery store.
I don’t get the “displacement” concept. Are they saying black folks won’t shop at a Trader Joe’s? I’ve seen many black shoppers at the Trader Joe’s I go to.
Whatever the case, how do you reason with someone, who prefers a slum atmosphere, to actual legitimate economic development?
Hey, Bozo! Nobody’s breaking your arm to shop there!
I LIKE those labels you don’t!
GFYIYOA!!!
Ive never seen GFYIYOA before. In your own... I Would imagine?
I guess Trader Chink, Trader Beaner and Trader Wop are not under consideration as alternatives.
So now its racist to translate the name Joe into other languages?
+. lol...
“...nearly 1,000 people...”
In other words - “..less than 1000...”.
I bet Trader Joe’s is worried.
Let's also ban the words Chinese, Mexican, and Italian.
People who are obsessed with such foolishness need something useful to work on.
As though the words: MING, JOSE and GIOTTO are somehow offensive. Are we not allowed to call it “Italian food, or “Chinese Food”?
Did he vanquish the Frito Bandito?
No it cannot be called Italian food or Chinese food because it vaguely resembles actual foods from Italy or China...
All American restaurants that claim to specialize in these styles must change their signage and decoration immediately
And besides, those restaurants must change the menu offerings because those foreign dishes they do try to produce are all appropriated
