Iran's message to its people: If you revolt, you die
Al-Jazeera ^ | 7/19/2020 | Saeid Golkar

Since late June, 11 Iranian citizens - three in Tehran and eight in Isfahan - have been sentenced to death for taking part in mass anti-government protests in November 2019. Iranian journalist Ruhollah Zam, who was accused of fuelling anti-government protests through a popular Telegram channel in 2017, also received the death penalty during the same period.

Also in June, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) shut down Iran's biggest anti-poverty NGO, the Imam Ali Society, and arrested its founding director, Sharmin Meymandi Nejad, citing "anti-Iran activities". The independent charity had attracted the regime's fury during last year's protests by criticising government officials for "calling the poverty-stricken demonstrators rioters and agents of the enemy".

Why did Iranian authorities rapidly intensify their efforts to silence dissenting voices in the last few weeks? The short answer is "fear". Today, amid a devastating pandemic and crippling economic sanctions, the Iranian government is more concerned about the possible re-emergence of mass riots than ever before.

If Obama were still President he would take swift and severe action on this. He would threaten the Iranian government with several more pallets of cash. He would say, “don’t force me to do that. I’m dead serious about sending it.”

This as it should be. Revolt is war. If you don't win, you die. Simple as that. It is not a question of fair. You can pick choose to back the revolutions in Iran. I really do not care. They are all Mooslims. Look at the last time the revolutionaries won in Iran. That's what they are stuck with now. It will be no better in the future. The only thing that works with these people is a tyrant the keeps the peace. Our only interest should be for the protection of our ally, Israel.

I should mention the same the is true in America with these Antifa/BLM rioters, looters and arsonists. If they revolt, they die.

Their plan b is massive arming. Plus they have the full backing of your local swat team, complet with fully automatic weapons, apcs and attack helicopters. If that doesn’t work.. NOAA has fully automatic weapons as well.
We are outgunned, numerically speaking.

“Iran’s message to its people: If you revolt, you die”

I think Machiavelli would go along with that.

If you want to keep power you have to be ruthless against those trying to take it away.

Same goes for those who want to gain power - they have to be ruthless against those in power.

Appeasement is the sure path to losing it. Ask Louis XVI.

I should add, if there is a time to show mercy it’s after you defeat your enemy, after their unconditional surrender. Like the US did with Germany and Japan after WWII.

And, coincidentally, that is the same threat all democrats give to the people.

Ironically, Machiavelli was very much against disarming the populace.

I’m not sure it’s all that ironic. He understood the power game but wasn’t against the people having their own power, and for the people to safeguard their power they needed to be vigilant and armed.

In other words he wasn’t advocating that the Prince have all the power, but only how to play the power game. The advice he gave the prince to keep his power applies equally to any other entity wishing to keep it’s power.

The modern version of that is Alinsky’s rules for radicals - conservatives can utilize them as well as radicals.
