The Trump administration is attempting to block billions of dollars for contact tracing, additional testing and other coronavirus mitigation efforts that would potentially be included in Congress's next coronavirus relief package, officials involved in the negotiations told The Washington Post.
According to the Post's sources, the administration is also trying to block billions in funding for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that GOP senators want to give the agency as it continues to battle COVID-19 on the front lines.
The administration also wanted to take out billions of dollars that would go to the Pentagon and State Department to allow them to better combat the pandemic both domestically and internationally, the Post reports.
While the talks were fluid, the officials said, the administration’s stance perturbed some GOP senators, who want the money to stay in the bill.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) signaled this week that Senate Republicans' version of a new COVID-19 relief package could be unveiled this coming week, as both the Senate and the House return to session.

A “senior administration official” apparently is telling some reporters that the White House has busted CDC politicizing the pandemic. This would seem to confirm that.
Usually “sources” mean “my imagination” but in the case of the CDC rot I think it’s true. I have checked on the CDC fairly often since around 2006 when I got interested in flu stuff. I remember when one head of the CDC under GWB I think, Nancy something or other, left the CDC to become head of Merck’s vaccine department.
I’ve seen accounts of the money the p*** away on worthless up to evil stuff.
I can’t believe these people are throwing away more money on this. It’s a local cost. Moving forward I see no case for federal dollars on covid-19.

I did this a couple months ago and got thousands of hits.
This week, 1200 CDC employees signed a letter speaking out fixing the systemic racism at the CDC. Fine. Shut the whole thing down and start over from scratch.
Not just covid bulls***. The CDC is chock of rot. It should stop existing.
They should also call for an audit.
I remember huge $$$ being spent on transperv “beauty pagents” and this was more than 10 years ago, plus some groovy anti-gravity chairs in their spiffy new gym for employees. Tip of iceberg. The CDC is an agency that should cease to exist.
Last week Mark Levin was commenting on funny business where COVID stats he had been following suddenly disappeared from their website.
The CDC is 100% implicated in lying about covid in every single way that can be lied about it. From hydroxychloroguine, to severity, to how to catch it, to numbers of “cases”, numbers of deaths, masks, the whole bit.
