Militarized federal agents wearing camouflaged outfits took to the streets of Portland, Oregon on Friday in unmarked vans, grabbing and detaining protesters while unleashing tear gas in what state Governor Kate Brown described as “a blatant abuse of power.”
The Democratic governor of Oregon said President Donald Trump was seeking confrontation as a way of winning political points while also trying to distract citizens from his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. Oregon has seen a surge in COVID-19 cases recently, while a number of other states across the US have also reported significant rises in infections.
Brown’s spokesman, Charles Boyle, said that detaining people in this manner is “extraordinarily concerning and a violation of their civil liberties and constitutional rights.”
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) echoed the sentiments of Brown’s office. “Usually when we see people in unmarked cars forcibly grab someone off the street we call it kidnapping,” said Jann Carson, interim executive director of the ACLU. “The actions of the militarized federal officers are flat-out unconstitutional and will not go unanswered.”

The Federal Protective Service has many former members of “elite” military units, i.e. rangers, seals, delta, marsoc, air force security (PJ’s). I guess the rules of engagement have changed. Now everyone should get off their duffs and make sure that they are designated as a terrorist group. Off to Guantanomo with them.

The only one I’ve seen was an obvious fake. The whole scenario was set up by rank amateurs.

Two Feds (unarmed) aren’t going to be going alone to “kidnap” a protestor. Everyone was way too calm. The “soldiers” ignored the other protestors that were to their sides and behind them. The person “arrested” wouldn’t have put their hands behind their back as soon as the soldiers touched their arms. (I can’t tell if the protestor is a boy or girl.)
And the gal taking the video sounds like a teacher for toddlers. “Use your words...” (But very calmly.)
The way these folks scream and yell and swear at the police, there is no way this is not a setup.

Did you notice the car? It's a Honda Odyssey minivan. I've never known federal, state, or local police to use a foreign car, and I would have expected a full-size van or SUV as a more appropriate vehicle. Throw in two "cops" with loose gear hanging all over like someone played dress up to make them look combat ready, and this girl's arrest looks staged by amateurs. Or are these double-secret police so clever that they borrowed Mommy's car and dressed like slobs because they planned it to look fake?
Also, I tried to get a good look at their holsters(?), but never saw enough to confirm there were even firearms. I tend to be very skeptical of conspiracy theories, but this one video (why not more?) makes that difficult.

Probably a good idea that ‘protesters’ who were arsonists and seen braking into stores enabling looters SHOULD be arrested by someone.
The Mayor of Portland not doing their job protecting the public should face recall.

He gave the governors more than enough opportunity to solve the problem.
