The Supreme Court revealed Friday Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for liver cancer since May.
"On May 19, I began a course of chemotherapy (gemcitabine) to treat a recurrence of cancer. A periodic scan in February followed by a biopsy revealed lesions on my liver. My recent hospitalizations to remove gall stones and treat an infection were unrelated to this recurrence," Justice Ginsburg released in a statement "Immunotherapy first essayed proved unsuccessful. The chemotherapy course, however, is yielding positive results. Satisfied that my treatment course is now clear, I am providing this information."
"My most recent scan on July 7 indicated significant reduction of the liver lesions and no new disease. I am tolerating chemotherapy well and am encouraged by the success of my current treatment. I will continue bi-weekly chemotherapy to keep my cancer at bay, and am able to maintain an active daily routine. Throughout, I have kept up with opinion writing and all other Court work," she continued. "I have often said I would remain a member of the Court as long as I can do the job full steam. I remain fully able to do that."
Earlier this week, Ginsburg was hospitalized overnight for an infection. She was released and is doing well.
"Justice Ginsburg was admitted to The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland early this morning for treatment of a possible infection. She was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. last night after experiencing fever and chills," the Court released in a statement Tuesday. "She underwent an endoscopic procedure at Johns Hopkins this afternoon to clean out a bile duct stent that was placed last August. The Justice is resting comfortably and will stay in the hospital for a few days to receive intravenous antibiotic treatment."
Inoperable liver cancer is not a death sentence, but does not have a good prognosis...depends on the details of her disease, which are not known to the public...
Notorious RBG’s problem is that she’s already had cancers of the colon, pancreas, lung, pancreas again, and now liver...
By all accounts, the bout of lung cancer about 18 months ago was metastatic...so a more recent relapse in the pancreas and now a new lesion(s) in the liver suggests further progression of the metastatic state...
Would not be surprised if she eventually experience metastatic lesions of the brain.
The several cancer recurrences over the past 18 months does not bode well for RBG’s prognosis. It is likely she is reaching the end of the line, but she has shown amazing resiliency over the past 20 years.
There are many unknowns with cancer and cancer treatments. Conceivably she could pass away tonight or in a matter of days?
However, the reality is that she likely still has enough juice to hang on until the next October Term and even past the election on November 3rd, maybe beyond?
I am convinced that the real RBG died sometime ago and this is an actress playing a role. They will allow to her die after the elections.
At her age, people live longer with fatal diseases. They progress more slowly.
Do you put it past Democrats to get an RBG lookalike if she passes away before the Election????!!

Hopefully, she will eventually face the souls of all the murdered-in-the-womb children she so gleefully supported killing. What a malignancy on civil society.
She will soon face the Supreme Justice of the Universe. She will answer for her lifelong worship of abortion.

These people are doing the job of a lifetime for people in their line of work. They are performing their life dream, their highest possible calling.
Chief Justice Rehnquist had thyroid cancer and worked up until days before his death.

RBG has a recurrence of cancer.
She has had cancer for a while. She is doing everything she can to stay alive until after the election. She may not get to the election. But I suspect if you want to replcase her with another conservative you better re-elect Trump and a republican senate. There is no way Trump will be able to get a conservative in before January 20th. You can’t count on the RINOs to stand with Trump before the election.
She has pancreatic cancer which has spread to the liver. Same as Steve Jobs. And like Steve Jobs, she will soon die. But she would like to hold on for a while making it very difficult for Trump to find and get another nominee through the senate.
She is a living cancer to the US.
