A Salem police officer was shot early Friday, and the suspects remain at large.

The officer was shot during an encounter near Mission Street Southeast and 17th Street, according to police, who didnt provide further details.
The suspect or suspects in the shooting fled, according to police. Officers are working to apprehend them, and SWAT officers could be seen in video footage from the area.
Police said theres no public threat, though didnt say why they believe that. Traffic has been affected.

Democrats/news media rejoice.
They need to declare an open season on Antifa thugs with no daily limit.
“The officer was shot during an encounter near Mission Street Southeast and 17th Street, according to police, who didnt provide further details.”
We can guess what those missing details are.
Sadly you’re correct.
Bump!
Absolutely no joke, but I work in the dental office directly across from where the suspect is pinned down at this moment. Our office is closed for the day clearly. We got text from the office manager early this morning telling us not to come into work. Thought we might be able to go in later but the doctor made the decision to cancel for the day. This is insane
Thanks for your post.
More blood on Crazy Kate’s hands.
How many Democrat/marxist “elected public officials”, state and municipal employees and taxpayer paid tenured college professors are behind those Antifa masks?

Don’t know about up there, but here in Californicator land:
Those arrested have been basically unemployed thugs probably getting money from George $oreA$$!
The democrats and liberals are slowly upping the violence.
Since the *protests*, things have nosedived in the blue cities, and the police are increasingly targeted along with any hapless white person who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
It’s like they are pushing and instigating, waiting to see how far they can push us before we start shooting back.
THEN they will decry the violence, blame the right, and call for stricter gun control, when all the right is doing is defending themselves. But they will make themselves out to be the victims in the end.
And they are about to celebrate a massive nationwide victory in November.
That’s why they wear the masks.
When there’s a confrontation because patriots and antifa, the first thing they should do it rip the masks off to get a good clear picture of their face, and then post the image all over the internet.
Expose these vermin for who they are and hold them accountable.
Leftist rhetoric about killing cops was intended to give savages permission to kill cops. The message was clear: kill a cop and you’ll get away with it.
The left is totally responsible for any and all cops’ deaths.
SWAT team is on the top of the building of where I work right now. Suspect pinned down in house directly across the street from my office. We are getting updates from our employer. Clearly none of us are at work today. They are negotiating for the suspect to come out of the house. I don’t think he is alone in the house. I do know there are small children that live there as I see them going in and out all the time.
Praying that’s all ends peacefully
Maybe he is hiding in the Portland mayor’s office?
