Masks don’t protect against viruses, and the ones I bought have that as a bold warning on the box.

I just ordered some cheap Trump full face masks. I’m going to start wearing them instead.

More like a face shield I guess.

Within months, perhaps no more than a year, everybody in the country will have contracted COVID-19, and a bunch of other viruses.

Just a moment of negligence and when you least expected it, you will come in contact with corona-virus. The only way to prevent getting infected, is to go into a cave and hibernate for the next year, and don’t come out until a vaccine has been developed and proven to work. Everybody gets the cold, sooner or later, and multiple times in their lives, and cornonavirus will be around forever, just like the cold and flu viruses.

Too bad Dr. Rancourt that you haven’t researched adding a personal ion generator while wearing a surgical mask. A ~20X increase in filtering efficiency.

A key statement from the author is missing from that post, which was probably posted before ResearchGate censored him and pulled his article:

"Denis G. Rancourt is a researcher at the Ontario Civil Liberties Association (OCLA.ca) and is formerly a tenured professor at the University of Ottawa, Canada. This paper was originally published at Rancourt's account on ResearchGate.net. As of June 5, 2020, this paper was removed from his profile by its administrators at Researchgate.net/profile/D_Rancourt. At Rancourt's blog ActivistTeacher.blogspot.com, he recounts the notification and responses he received from ResearchGate.net and states, “This is censorship of my scientific work like I have never experienced before.”

Watch out, it is a “I saw it on the Internet, it must be true” kinda site: a quick search shows “SOTT” is highly suspect...the research author the website quoted has no paper related to masks/respirators at the the quoted site “Researchgate.net”. And at least one of the research papers quoted near the bottom says nothing about “masks vs. no mask” but refers to “N95” masks vs. surgical masks. Enough for me to ignore. Buyer beware.

Here are key anchor points to the extensive scientific literature that establishes that wearing surgical masks and respirators (e.g., "N95") does not reduce the risk of contracting a verified illness: Jacobs, J. L. et al. (2009) "Use of surgical face masks to reduce the incidence of the common cold among health care workers in Japan: A randomized controlled trial", American Journal of Infection Control, Volume 37, Issue 5, 417 - 419.

I should not have read the study. It says "Results: Thirty-two health care workers completed the study, resulting in 2464 subject days. There were 2 colds during this time period, 1 in each group." That's their evidence that masks don't work? One maskless and one masked person out of 32 total had a cold.

Interestingly, they removed this guy's article from researchgate.net because it violated their TOS. How did it do that? It posited a theory that was against the scientific consensus.....Did you catch that?....

I'm not sure these people even know what science is anymore.
