PASADENA, Calif. — The 2021 Rose Parade has been canceled because of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on planning for the New Year’s Day tradition and the risk of spreading infections among its huge audience and participants, organizers said Wednesday.

The Pasadena, California, Tournament of Roses Association said the decision was put off until organizers were certain that safety restrictions would prevent staging of the 132nd parade.

I know there’s some lead time in getting ready for the parade, but, they are apparently thinking that this virus crisis is not going to end anytime soon.

Not until there is a safe, effective vaccine will people be able to assemble as they once did. That includes sport events, parades, theatre, movies, chuches,resaurants, bars weddings, funerals, mass transit and just about all social activities that define the culture. That is why the Marxist/Left views this pandemic as an opportunity to define and establish their brave new world.

The parade relies on volunteers to build floats, and normally float construction would be well underway by now. No construction yet because of shutdown.

Also, high school and college bands, as well as other participants, aren’t practicing or even meeting, and the whole school year is up in the air.

how effective is a flu shot anyways? I got the flu and pneumonia immediately following while I had the shot a month earlier.

There will be a vaccine, but with the flu vaccine, you don’t get long term protection and tons of vaccinated people get the flu anyways.
