By the traditional, reasonable definition of “racism,” the Smithsonian’s National African American History Museum is now pushing claptrap so racist that conservatives and liberals alike are objecting to it.
It is racism of a radical-left variety, very much in line with the Smithsonian Institution’s quarter century or more of pushing leftist propaganda. As the Smithsonian is 62% federally funded, it should not be promoting such a contentious, ideological agenda as gospel.
Congress, by its nature unequipped to police the aggressive wokeness of cultural institutions effectively, should have begun phasing out taxpayer support for the Smithsonian long ago. But this new development should prompt members to threaten the entirety of the institution’s federal funding.
Before the leftist mob tried to redefine the word “racism,” which simply meant prejudice against others based on perceived racial characteristics. Racist discrimination, racial oppression, and racist abuses of power were all distinct concepts, of which racism was one component and the discrimination or abuse of power was another.
The leftists, though, have tried to hijack the word “racist” so that it only applies in the context of power relationships and so that it can flow only from whites (the “powerful”) toward members of other groups.
This is malicious nonsense, and its fruit is apparent in the museum’s malignant furtherance of racism under the guise of combating it.
Thus, after multiple paragraphs of increasingly benighted hogwash, the museum’s webpage excites itself into a lather against “aspects and assumptions of whiteness.” And, to be clear, whiteness is bad, evil, even, because whiteness, according to the museum, is by its very nature oppressive.
Within the lather and loam, we are made to feel that all of the following signs of evil whiteness are objectionable: individualism and “self reliance,” the “structure” of the “nuclear family,” the “scientific method” using “objective, rational linear thinking,” the “Protestant work ethic” emphasizing (Lord forbid!) that “hard work is the key to success,” and admonitions to “respect authority” and “plan for the future.”
Also unbearably white is a justice system that “protect[s] property,” a system in which “majority rules (when Whites have power),” and communication that involves “written tradition” and asks us to “be polite.”
The museum teaches that the job for all white people, therefore, is to “confront” their own whiteness and become actively “anti-racist,” which, of course, entails promoting “social justice” for “a more equitable society."
And just guess who gets to define what is “just” or “equitable”? Naturally, only those who reject hard work, the property rights of others, the traditional family, self-reliance, politeness, planning for the future, and, drum roll, please, “rational” thinking and the scientific method.
Well, in these pages, rationality will prevail. Rationality says this stuff is anti-civilizational tommyrot. It is also something taxpayers should not have to subsidize.
Forget about defunding the police. Defund the Smithsonian instead

Like the elementary school children who are shunned and shamed if they try to resist teachers making them accept ideas about sex change and cross dressing. Little boy was sent out of class for not agreeing that all kids may want to change sex sometime and shouldn’t talk of themselves now as a “boy” or “girl.” Heard that in a radio interview. I think it was in New York.
Imagine how hard at that young age it is to resist and battle that ostracism and being laughed at for being what we call normal.

It isn’t just finger pointing. It’s dehumanizing and scapegoating all whites because of their race—something that used to be known simply as promoting racism. And it’s being done for political reasons by the hard left while they pretend to be fighting for “justice.”
When my mother-in-law lived with us she used to get National Geographic Magazine and The Smithsonian Magazine. I began to notice, I think it was sometime around the early part of George W. Bush’s second term both magazines began to suddenly start spouting leftist twaddle about ‘’climate change’’, the ‘’injustice of immigration policies of the West(aka the US) and a lot of other Leftist garbage until both magazines were little more than Pravda board sheets with pictures of exotic animals and tropic scenes. After my mother-in-law passed away I ended both subscriptions.

BS!! Have a committee put two or three staffers and interns on it full time. Heck, put a dozen junior people on an oversight sub-committee. It wouldn't cost much and they could keep close tabs on how these agencies are subverting our freedoms.
The only reason Congress won't do this is they don't want to.
