Walmart and Sam's Club shoppers will be required to wear face masks to prevent coronavirus spread in all stores starting July 20, the company announced Wednesday.

"Currently about 65 percent of our more than 5,000 stores and clubs are located in areas where there is some form of government mandate on face coverings. To help bring consistency across stores and clubs, we will require all shoppers to wear a face covering," the retail giant said in a blog post.

I haven’t been to Wally world since this all started

I haven't been to WalMart since this all started and I wouldn't go there without a space suit.

In other words they know that they cannot enforce a mask directive.

Surgeons wear masks for hours at a time and yet somehow survive.

Did you know that the hospitals have specially designed HVAC systems in operating rooms which compensate for this?

Yeah...they in cooled rooms (very cool) and have extra oxygen piped-in. Most surgeons are relatively young also.
It’s apples and oranges.

Well this explains why my store all of a sudden got masks in stock in the last 2 weeks.

I was just there. Wish I knew this before I shopped today but will make a list and pick up the few things I need before Monday.

Will be doing our shopping at the grocery store, Dollar General and Dollar Tree or do without.

I don’t have a credit card. I have my bank debit card but if there isn’t money in there I can’t do orders.

I ordered some canned meat last month from WM. 2 of the 6 cans need to be returned. One has a big dent and the other looks fine but the seal is bad. I don’t trust them to not put dented, out of date, or replace with more expensive items.

So in theory there is nothing a business can do about it.

Sure they can. They an deny entry and let the customer file a complaint.

I think most stores will hopefully have their BS detector operating to determine if someone is lying if they say they are not required to wear a mask when that is not the case.

People don't have an unalienable right to shop at Walmart.

Costco Canada has signs saying they would like everyone to wear masks. When asked I just say “no thank you”.

Yes. Costco has made shopping a major pain in the ass. If the line is huge I just turn around and go home.

Slander.

When you go to Walmart do you worry about being seen by somebody from church?

“Slander.”

Idiot. You never were that bright, still aren’t.

You’re feeding the anti-Trump, anti-American liberal beast.

Oh no...... you are slandering the greatest retail company in America. Your apology is needed to atone.

I didn’t think you were among the anti corporatists here but apparently I was wrong

“I didn’t think you were among the anti corporatists”

You’re really so stupid as to think not shopping at a store because of a stupid mask policy is being “anti corporatist”??

Stay home, old man, you’re too frail to be out alone.

“So if you have COPD or asthma, you’ll be asked to leave the store? Or what?”

I just got into it with my manager on that very topic, whereas he was stating businesses have the right to refuse service and I was stating that a “health order” overrides the businesses’ right to refuse service for those wearing a mask due to “equal access/non-discrimination” language in the health orders.

In states with a health order mandate for statewide requirements, there is an EXEMPTION for those with medical conditions and a requirement that the business provide equal access to services from businesses “open to the public.” (Costco is NOT “open to the public” so that business is an outlier, as are Sam’s Club stores).

In states WITHOUT a statewide health order mandate, businesses open to the public can do whatever they want, reinforced by a an attorney re Utah (among others. Note: Utah does NOT have a statewide mandate).

However, Utah implemented a mask mandate for “state facilities” on July 10 and EVEN THERE they have an exemption for medical conditions.

I’ve not been denied service ANYWHERE in Oregon since Tyrant Kate Brown implemented her statewide order (now to include OUTDOORS as of today).

Here is the Utah order for state facilities. Note the exemption:

West Virginia:

I could go on for all 20 states, but you get the gist...

What’s so scary to me is how willing so many of us are to go along to get along. If everybody with just the smallest bit of common sense would say “no, I’m not going to do that”. All of this would be over.

The powers that be know this, so they are counting on the “Karens” (I hate that term) to shame us into complying.

This is really no different than the peer pressure in high school. All of this is just so juvenile. That’s why I say we must shame these “Karens” back. There is no woman who wants to be called out on how unclean something of hers is. As I have already mentioned, these types of masks are used typically in clean environments, not some warehouse like Sams’s Club. I can assure you, they are covered in bacteria. We need to make sure for our safety to keep these mask wearing dirty dogs away from us. And, if they try to come at us, we come back at them harder.

Here is a quote by Donald Trump:

I love getting even when I get screwed by someone. ... Always get even. When you are in business you need to get even with people who screw you. You need to screw them back 15 times harder. You do it not only to get the person who messed with you but also to show the others who are watching what will happen to them if they mess with you. If someone attacks you, do not hesitate. Go for the jugular.

“Surgeons wear masks for hours at a time and yet somehow survive.”

That’s because they don’t want to get their patients infected.
