Sessions blasts Tuberville for ‘being wrong on immigration’; calls it a top issue

Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions attacked his July 14 GOP runoff opponent for “being wrong on immigration,” an issue that he calls “one of the most important issues” Congress is faced with as it wrangles with other concerns such as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and police reform.

(I’m not saying) that it’s No. 1, but it’s right up there,” said Sessions during a news conference Monday in Mobile. “We have 11 million people here unlawfully. In some years, we’ve had 11 million people arrested at the (U.S.-Mexico) border. If we do this right, the number of attempts for entering illegally will plummet.”

Cross-voting is not allowed. For a voter to vote in the runoff, the voter is required to vote in the Republican primary.

According to the Alabama SOS it’s only required they didn’t vote in the Dem primary:

I voted in my political party’s Primary Election. My party is not having a runoff. Can I vote in the other party’s runoff?
No. In 2017, the Alabama Legislature passed Act 2017-340. The act prohibits a person from voting in one political party’s primary election and voting in a different political party’s primary runoff election. Therefore, if you vote in a primary election and want to vote in a primary runoff election, you must vote in the primary runoff election of the same political party that you chose in the primary election. However, if you did not vote in a political party’s primary election and would like to vote in the primary runoff election, you may choose which political party’s primary runoff election you would like to vote in.

Once again, Alabama has two unsavory candidates for senate. Although Sessions is old school and just plain old, I can’t forget what Tubberville did to the football players at Ole Miss. He said he wasn’t seeking a new job, then accepted a position at Auburn, then didn’t even bother to tell his players goodbye. Just left. Shows a lack of character on his part. Correct me if I am wrong.

He was the only senator opposed to H1B and tried to shut it down. But Republicans and Democrats love the Indian worker more than the American worker

Hell man did you miss how Sessions almost single handedly thwarted Bushes amnesty in 2005-2006

Same amnesty I got zotted for opposing here

Ask folks who were here

Sessions warts or not was a lone voice in upper GOPe ranks fighting the good fight then

It’s a shame his tenure as AG was poor

Tuberville is pro H1B.

Well, it's Session then.

Trump hired Bolton, said he was a great guy. Trump was wrong, just like he’s wrong now to endorse cheap-immigrant-labor Tubville. Trump can be wrong, and I’m free to think for myself

Ah, I got the law wrong. But it still prevents those who voted in the democrat primary from voting in the runoff.

Back in the day Sessions was the lone voice fighting against the H-1B rape job.

We need workers, there’s no doubt about that. We need workers to come the right way.”

BS. "We" don't need to import ONE more worker on a visa.

H1B Indian legal immigration is hundreds of times more dangerous to the American middle class than illegal immigration can ever be. 5 million underemployed and unemployed American STEM workers agree with me.

Well stated.

Anyone who claims we only have 11 million illegals here isn’t really against illegal immigration.

There is only one reason for both legal and illegal immigration: to reduce the prevailing wages of all Americans.

He seems to have been the only one opposed to legal and illegal immigration.

Tuberville was in Academia too long. And most in Academia are pro-legal and illegal immigration.

Hope those voting for Tuberville realize that he is another MumbaiMike and will do everything in his power to destroy the American middle class with the Cheap Indian Express.

So Sessions was a terrible AG. Should the American people be thrown under the bus for that with a Tuberville pick?

I haven’t forgotten. But in the end what good did that do? None, really.

In the 15 or so years since then many swing states have become solid blue. Many major red states are on the brink of flipping blue. VA is already gone. No states have gone from swing states to solid GOP.

In no way has Sessions effectively opposed the open borders agenda. We’re losing. Plain and simple. The amnesty loving GOP Senators are happy to have supposed effective immigration Sessions back in the club. Ask yourself why that is?

This is stupid, just based on the numbers.

Back in the 90's I was laid off and replace by an H-1B. It was very depressing and I almost lost everything. I did everything right. I educated myself in an up and coming field and was slammed hard. Thought about becoming an out and out socialist.

So calling it stupid makes you a real piece of excrement in my eyes.

I guess Trump likes Tuberville. He also liked Bolton.

Not to mention Jared Kushner.

I really don't care whether Sessions is personally loyal to Trump or not, this is about issues, not personalities. I do care about the fact that when almost every other GOP Senator was arguing over the best way to give illegals a "path to citizenship", Jeff Sessions was talking about the need to deport them. I also care that while the Trump administration was either apologetic or in denial about "separating families", Sessions had the guts to defend the common sense practice as a deterrent.
