'All Lives Splatter' post has Mike Brown in hot water after Summer Taylor's death in Seattle
A cousin of Washington Gov. Jay Inslee who's been a cop for 40 years has been suspended over inflammatory online posts following the death of a protester in Seattle.
Summer Taylor, 24, was hit by a car on a closed freeway Saturday and later died; Mike Brown, a King County Sheriff's Office detective, is accused of sharing a meme on Facebook after the crash of a drawing of a person flying over the hood of a vehicle, along with the words "All Lives Splatter" and "Get your a-- off the road," reports the Washington Post.
KING 5 has a screenshot, as well as images of other offensive posts apparently made by Brown. In a statement, the sheriff's office says Brown was "immediately placed on administrative leave," with all of his "police powers ... suspended." Other staffers who reacted to the posts will also be investigated. Per KIRO, Brown's Facebook page is now down.
Taylor's father, Matt Taylor, calls the meme "disgusting" and "unfathomable." "That guy needs to be fired now," he tells the Seattle Times of Brown. "I think anybody who was liking it, sharing it, or doing anything else with it should be fired." Inslee also wasn't happy to hear about the posts, per KOMO. "I'm deeply disappointed and totally reject the language of my cousin Mike Brown who made inflammatory comments about recent protests," he tweeted Tuesday. "The language is unacceptable and just flat wrong, particularly from a law enforcement officer, as we try to heal the divisions of our community." Meanwhile, the suspect in Taylor's death, 27-year-old Dawit Kelete, has been charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, and reckless driving and is being held on $1.2 million bail. The other protester hit Saturday, Diaz Love, is recovering from serious injuries.
We will invoke the memory of Saint Pancake to assuage the grief of little Matty.
Aint Jemimer, or real maple syrup, Matty?
I'm missing Summer less and less...
Now that right there is some funny.
Excellent post.
It’s not “unfathonable”.
Humans are emotional beings.
“Wouldnt impeding traffic on a US or I route come under Federal jurisdiction since OUR money helped build the Interstate system???”
The interstate highway system has some interesting provisions in the bill that authorized and funded it’s construction.
The bill authorized a federal highway system for the purposes of COMMERCE and DEFENSE.
Civilians are able to use the interstate system as long as such use does not interfere with the primary usage for Commerce and Defense.
I have always thought that idiots who block interstate highways should be arrested on federal charges of at least Interfering With Interstate Commerce.
That decision would have to come out of DC and I don’t know if anyone remembers the pertinent laws and regulations.
Maybe when President Trump wins re-election he can pull that trigger
I dunno, I thought his comment was pretty good.
So sue me.
Hes been a cop for 40 years GREAT TIME to retire!! Take this job and shove it!,
I just don’t like the idea of people being fired for something they say. Especially when they are not at work when they say it.
“”disgusting” and “unfathomable.””, maybe so, but we have the right of free speech in this country (at least we used to).
If you came to work on your M-F job drunk, you should be fired.
If you went out and got drunk on Saturday night, should you be fired for that?
So explain the relationship between Jay Inslee, “crunchies” and an APC?
Protesters on freeways are violent, slamming vehicles, assaulting drivers, and throwing objects across the median and from overpasses.
They are a threat to themselves and others and interrupt interstate commerce.
They hold no authority to close a highway and at 24 should know enough not to play in the street where drivers have a posted minimum of 40 on up to max speeds of 55, 60, 65 and above.
>>”I think anybody who was liking it, sharing it, or doing anything else with it should be fired.”
Chilling censorship and blacklisting
for later
Lemmee guess, this family hasn't had Thanksgiving dinner together in a while?
Washington State sure loves the First Amendment, only for reds and black extremists, though. Hates their cops whom they’ve betrayed for years.
Poor taste is one thing. Silencing people is another. The Fascistic insane governor is working hand-in-gloves with the Marxist rules of Seattle. It’s like Germany in the early 1930’s.
My comment likewise would be considered inflammatory today by people like Inslee or any liberal, although we were involved in combat. After making some armed bicyclists into martyrs we never bothered to steer around them or their bicycles as we rolled over their physical position. We all heard the sounds in the track. A crunching noise.
Youre a civilian. Be glad.
I do not believe for a second that the driver was an innocent person who simply blundered onto a closed freeway. I think he and a few before him had used the highway to get to the protest without having to walk.
I hasnt considered this possibility. Makes perfect sense.
Social justice.
That’s what I think to - he is rumored (Twitter) to have been a protestor at Chaz and the Mayor’s house.
His photo with the unkempt dreads would fit right in at Chaz.
Other twitter posts to other protestors gave them the directions on how to get to the interstate protest by going down the wrong way on the exit ramp.
It could have been the guy was in a hurry to the protest and got their location slightly off. (I think they were north of the big overpass at the Convention Center, he might have thought they were south of it or something??).
I’m just glad that it wasn’t a white guy that plowed into them or Seattle would still be burning. It has really quieted down after this happened.
Agreed on almost all accounts. The first “protest” was sanctioned and the police/WSDOT set up barricades for it before it began.
Then the protestors kept doing it on their own and the times getting later and later. They would block the road with POV and then the police and WSDOT had to react.
But there were reports of tweets sent to other protestors on how to use the exit ramps to enter the highway to get to the protest.
One Freeper suggested that the one protester who got launched through the air after being struck by the car should have been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. LMAO.
