The Florida Department of Health on Sunday reported 15,299 new Wuhan coronavirus cases. This is the largest number of cases reported in a single day. The record was previously held by New York when they reported 12,274 new cases, TIME reported.
The reason Florida saw an uptick in positive cases is because they also had a record-breaking number of tests that were conducted.
The state currently has 269,811 positive infections. In total, 18,271 people were hospitalized as a result of the virus. As of now, 2,576,813 people have been tested for the Wuhan coronavirus. That puts the Sunshine State's infection rate at 10.5 percent.
The number of positive cases has gone up over the last month. Last month, less than five percent of coronavirus tests came back positive. More than 19 percent of tests were positive over the past week, The Hill reported.
According to Rep. Donna Shalala (D), places like Miami are on the verge of seeing a second lockdown.
"It's out of control across the state because our governor won't even tell everybody to wear masks. At least in Miami-Dade county, everyone must wear a mask when they're outside," she told CNN Saturday night. "This is an American tragedy."
The uptick in positive cases was expected as the state doubled its testing capacity. Previously, Florida was testing 25,000 people a day. That number has since doubled to 50,000 tests per day.
As of now, the state has no mask mandate. Walt Disney World also reopened on Saturday, despite concern from local public health care officials.
Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has said he wants schools to reopen next month, despite the rising number of infections.
“We know there are huge, huge costs for not providing the availability of in-person schooling,” he said. “The risk of corona, fortunately, for students is incredibly low.”

We cannot hide from what the Enemedia is saying. Yes, of course it is fake news, that needs to be transmitted to the average idiot walking down the street who can be manipulated, easily.
Amazing how efficient the data tracking is in order to provide accurate daily snapshots along with those getting tested the very first day they were infected.
But deaths are not going up correspondingly.
FL hit almost 10K a day two weeks ago. Highest death per day since is 119.
Compare to NY. When it hit 5K cases they were at 1000 deaths a day two weeks later.
FL has 4,000 deaths and NY 32,000. Increased testing results in more positive cases. The FL healthcare system is not being overwhelmed. The reality is that the virus is so widespread that the only solution is to protect the most vulnerable and let herd immunity take care of the rest.

No they didn’t
They may have tested and confirmed some number of infections but, that is not cases...
Common flu is contagious. Maybe we need to rethink and start closing schools during flu season. Keep the numbers down you see(?).
Holding down the number of sick people is now the go to strategy for contagious disease. Why? People are going to die anyway. That can’t be stopped. Average age is 80 something. Get to be 90, the chances of dying increases just because you’re older. Nobody lives forever.
Getting sick is part of life, without living inside a bubble. That’s why we have doctors. Who wants to give up living just because they might get the flu or something?
Unless you have certain (now known) health conditions Covid-19 is not the killer we were led to believe.

There is no reason for healthy people to wear masks outside. Sick people and those exposed to sick people should be self isolating.
So how are those masks working for Miami- Dade?

Also tells why rampant testing may be a hybrid between infection and probable immunity. The asymptomatics are likely those woth dead viral particles being augmented in PCR and not causing illness
If the damned things (face masks) were of any use God would have given them to us, or we’d have evolved them, depending on your view of things.
It looks like the “cases” are positive tests. How many of them are actual sick people? And of those, how many are really ill or uncomfortable, and how many just feel tired or like they have a mild cold or diarrhea?
Because on any given day a number of people have mild illnesses and we don’t count them nor care. And if they test + and don’t feel the slightest bit sick, obviously the test is not giving us useful info.
Make no mistake about it, they are also after Ron Desantis, he scares the crap out of them. He’s a skilled competent governor that actually gets things done.
Cases, or infections?
Yet, 70% of the cases have no symtoms and no illness. I bet these tests are giving many false positives.
