Why New York Times praises ‘cancel culture’ but skips over its own racist history
NY Post ^ | July 11 2020 | Michael Goodwin

In a recent article about Mount Rushmore, The New York Times said of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt that “each of these titans of American history has a complicated legacy.”

Reporters Bryan Pietsch and Jacey Fortin casually summarized the woke herd’s litany of grievances: Washington and Jefferson owned slaves, Lincoln was “reluctant and late” to issue the Emancipation Proclamation and Roosevelt “actively sought to Christianize and uproot Native Americans.”

Rushmore’s sculptor, Gutzon Borglum, didn’t escape unscathed. “Borglum had been involved with another project: an enormous bas-relief at Stone Mountain in Georgia that memorialized Confederate leaders,” the reporters wrote.

How about this. I served 24 years and multiple combat tours where I recieved multiple PH’s for the country we live in not.

I have lived in several other nations and traveled all over the world and this is the least racist and bigoted country I have ever seen.

So, assholes who what to tear our nation down, what are you going to have when you get done?

How are you going to make it better than it is now?

Answer the direct question with a direct answer.

It is almost lock and load time to fight for what I believe in. So far the right wingers have not even stepped on the playing field but that time is quickly approaching.

The US is beginning to feel like Spain in early 1936.

It creates the fictional 1619 project but sucked up to the bloodiest slave state in history: the Soviet Union. (OK, maybe second after China)

It speaks volumes that the alleged victims of racism in this country (blacks and Hispanics) are still pouring in from failed countries administered by their own people; it exposes the lie.

You’re right, and remember it got hot in Spain after the 1936 election (when a leftist government was elected and tried to “fundamentally transform” the country).

I’m fine with cancelling the slimes.

The New York Times building sits on land stolen from the Indians. They should give it back.

The Slimes should stop honoring white people by using air conditioning during the summer.

They are harming the planet as well.

They should sweat like the Slimes they are....

I have a rifle & ammunition. I am a disabled Vietnam vet (not wounded) and can no longer run. We are warned not to join visible militias because they are heavily infiltrated. Community patrolling is as high as we should organize (it works in towns like Coeur D’Alene) according to Matt Bracken & others.

Who will be the first to fire the shot heard round the world? How will hostilities with BLM/Antifa commence nationwide when the powers that be are siding with them?

I’d be surprised if there’s a Franco in the US military’s ranks. Milley seems to be trying out for the role of Franco’s opposite number.

Our military holds a very different place in society than it did in early 20th century Spain (actually, much of Spain’s history); I don’t expect any politicking from any officers today.

The military holds the ultimate trump card - a level of force no civil authority can match. That it’s been docile for a while is no guarantee of permanent docility. The Roman Republic stood for almost 500 years. Then the Gracchus brothers started their thing, progressing into the contention between Marius and Sulla, ending up with Caesar crossing the Rubicon, with all the follow-on consequences.

Our military is scattered, and members can’t guarantee their loved ones’ safety in a conflict. This isn’t the colonials serving nearby their homes anymore.

The military is also hardly unified politically; you could have units split or support either side.

I’m not saying that the military will be monolithic. What could happen is Milley on one side, and a modern-day Franco on the other, in a continental-scale version of the Spanish Civil War.

One of the things they did was legalize prostitution and
abortion...sounds familiar.

I see; it is also hard when so many of our troops are not even in the country.

Yes, and they started seizing property, outlawing religion (along the lines of current trends where publicly stating the Judeo-Christian opposition to homosexuality is a crime in some Western countries), taking control of companies (done by legal threats here instead of outright mob seizure)...

The dopes and dupes pushing this stuff have to stand back and realize that it simply never works; when Spain split in 1936, shortages followed quickly in the leftist zone because nobody wanted to work. The Nationalist zone never faced the hunger or high desertion rates of the left because the people had a purpose; the leftist/gubmint zones were filled with malcontents who didn’t want to take orders any more from a leftist government than from a monarchy or military government.
