I Don’t Want to Go Back’: Many Teachers Are Fearful and Angry Over Pressure to Return
The New York Times ^ | July 11, 2020 | Dana Goldstein and Eliza Shapiro

Posted on 07/11/2020 5:43:03 PM PDT by MinorityRepublican

Many of the nation’s 3.5 million teachers found themselves feeling under siege this week as pressure from the White House, pediatricians and some parents to get back to physical classrooms intensified — even as the coronavirus rages across much of the country.

On Friday, the teachers’ union in Los Angeles, the nation’s second-largest district, demanded full-time remote learning when the academic year begins on Aug. 18, and called President Trump’s push to reopen schools part of a “dangerous, anti-science agenda that puts the lives of our members, our students and our families at risk.”

” keeping the schools closed will cause millions of women to stay home to watch their kids”

Which is exactly what moms should be doing. Moms taking care of their children, every day. All day.

Modern society has caused great damage to the family unit, forcing mothers to leave their children to strangers in day care or to send them to schools and be brainwashed by liberal/radical teachers.

No wonder this country is sinking like a rock morally and spiritually.

I don’t care if the schools stay closed forever. It would be a great blessing and maybe the beginning of rebonding of the family unit with children being rescued from the radicalism and moral filth found in schools. This is the one time I disagree with President Trump.

The New York Times, Dana Goldstein and Eliza Shapiro

No true information from the sources of above, just fiction, deception and empty pride. “Oh, look at us! We are from the NYT!!” Get lost, losers.

Teachers love students and are tired of pushing global warming on innocent students and concerned parents.

Hey teachers, you taught the kids to revolt and now you are afraid of them.

Where’s that NO SYMPATHY scale....

Over paid under achievers with exemptions.

I got an excellent education and I truly feel sorry for the children who will not receive a decent education.

Oh, and NO private schools.

They want to stay home and get paid. Why don’t they give the jobs to the undocumented

Two married high school teachers live around the corner from me. Hispanic, three or four little kids (lots of stimulus checks). Have accumulated a new boat (maybe 21’), new pickup, work on house, landscaping, in last 3-4 months, while at home.

I hope you end up in ICU with the virus, struggling to breathe, isolated from family members, cared for by nurses and doctors in hazmat suits. You would deserve it.

Why wish evil upon someone who has done you no harm?

All of those issues, e.g., restrooms, etc., have existed in school settings for decades, including during bird flu, swine flu, and many other contagious outbreaks. Here and there one school might close for a couple days or weeks, but the whole system didn’t shut down.

The only thing these teachers are fearful of is work. If you think the NEA isn’t organizing this to negatively impact the election, it isn’t the Flubros who are idiots.

The PLUME! My goodness ... the PLUME! Flushing ANY toilet ANY day with poo in it will send a PLUME six feet in every direction with deadly e-coli in it — often to your toothbrush. (See the experiment on “Myth Busters”.) Shockingly, this was the case PRE-WuFlu. Everything bad in the world didn’t start in February 2020 when Hillary’s henchman Fauci began spreading his lies.

You need to calm down. Maybe think about finding peace with God who can calm your irrational fears. It isn’t necessary to live like this.

So sacrifice your collectively-bargained contract, and let someone else teach who is not in the NEA or UFT. A small price to pay to stop Trump’s “anti-science agenda”. Wooooo!

why not..the judge is gonna rule in his bathrobe from his kitchen

the bureaucrats are in the process of figuring out how to convert expenditures on office buildings and school buildings and school sports into salaries and bennies for themselves “working” from home

its only just a matter of time

no work = no pay
Simple solution.

And, taxpayers should be getting a HUGE refund for their school taxes, given that schools aren’t teaching any more.

There’s a teacher in my neighborhood. He’s been on one perpetual vacation but continues to draw his full paycheck. What’s not to love if you’re him?

Couple that with the Dem Teachers Union having a vested interest in keeping the Covid mania going until November.

Of course they’re screeching that it’s “unsafe” to go back.

Yes,in a perfect world mothers would be home caring for the kids...greeting them when they get home from school. But, sadly,we don’t live in a perfect world.

I’m an actual teacher....kids need to be in the classroom. Remote learning is a joke. OPEN the schools. If you are a teacher that has some preexisting conditions, perhaps you will be assigned to remote delivery to the kids who will stay home, due to preexisting conditions.

Personally, I think the new breed of teachers, the Millenialls, desperately want another semester off.

They want to continue to get paid for sitting at home in their pajamas doing ineffective school from home remote teaching sessions with their students.

Sweden south Korea and others have shown the teachers fears about school regarding the Wuhan Virus are totally unfounded. (A) K-12 school age kids are among the least susceptible age group for even getting the virus, and (B) the few that have been infected have been shown to NOT be infecting others - peers or adults.

There is zero scientific basis for the teachers fears or being back in school. They can control their contact with each other and wear masks all the time, and their students are not a viral threat to them.
