That's the reason I'm so happy the Trump Administration doesn't get itself mired in these city and state issues. First, ANY involvement by Trump in ANYTHING gives the media a chance to blame him for whatever happens, and second, these city and state voters get a chance to see how clueless, or tyrannical, their "leaders" are.
Just look at what happened during the COVID shutdowns, people took it as license to speed, and traffic deaths went up despite lower traffic volumes.
Some of the speeding MPHs were off the charts.
What could possibly go wrong?
This ought to be fun to watch. The city is already hard left and worthless. This will totally destroy it, and that will be a good thing.
Unfortunately, the good people who still choose to live there will suffer from the additional rapes, thefts, arsons and murders that the out of control street thugs will inflict on them.
The people in Berkeley know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.

I am not sure it ever was. I cruised through Berkeley a few times. I thought it was a very weird place.

I’m surprised they have not put electronic sensors on the highways for speeders. They send a ticket to your home if you speed. They have them in Italy (Sicily). American military are quite surprised when they get the first one.
DoT can toss orange cones at ‘em ‘til they pull over.. or CHP shows up. Brilliant!!

Well, let me tell you:
1) DOT employees are not sworn peace officers, so every ticket will be summarily dismissed.
2) Instead of police being killed at traffic stops, it will be Department of Transportation personnel.

Isn’t that the truth. And the sad part is that even one stupid - but determined - person can easily dominate a crowd of weak people.
While I find the word ‘body’ very odd in this context — body implying a corpse and not a living person — it does remind me of the use of the word ‘souls’ (such as when an airliner crashes and people say ‘there were 127 souls on board’).
This might work in a smaller community in the Midwest or South. Cali......not so much.
The make-up of the American Left seems to be: Retired old hippies who now have the free time to relive their drug-and-protest days, their kids who were raised on Ritalin and Adderall, and their grandkids who have been fully-indoctrinated by the school system, cooped up in the house for four months, and eager to run wild and destroy things.
This core group is joined by Black Lives Matter and other protest groups who enjoy burning and looting.
If the mental hospitals hadn't been closed down by liberals out of their endless "compassion" in the '70s and '80s, many of these people would have been permanent residents.
I don’t think they consider them to be human the way they talk about them.
