WHO: Indoor airborne spread of coronavirus possible
Associated Press ^ | 7-10-20 | AP

The World Health Organization is acknowledging the possibility that COVID-19 might be spread in the air under certain conditions — after more than 200 scientists urged the agency to do so.

In an open letter published this week in a journal, two scientists from Australia and the U.S. wrote that studies have shown “beyond any reasonable doubt that viruses are released during exhalation, talking and coughing in microdroplets small enough to remain aloft in the air.”

Here in the Southwest, we all have the A/C turned on now-because it is in the upper 90’s-100 degrees outside-any virus can be circulated/recirculated by an A/C because is is a closed system-like both Norovirus and Wuhan virus did/does on cruise ships...

Looks like in spite of all the masking and panicking, people are still going to develop some natural herd immunity, no matter how they try to avoid it...

Yeah, right. You’ve had almost a year to discover this but now that the virus is weakening....

LOL, don’t even get me started. That imbecile (assuming you mean the governor and not the roid-rager on TV) issued an order preventing people from visiting their relatives in nursing homes for fear of spreading the virus to the elderly, and then issued another order forcing covid victims into nursing homes!

I’m not even sure who is the greater idiot anymore. It’s so incomprehensible and contradictory it defies explanation... unless of course it’s about the money. Then that would explain everything.

I saw an interesting blurb somewhere. Maybe someone else can remember better details. Dont remember where I saw it. Maybe texags site

Basically the gist is..that Cruise ship was the perfect place to tell us about transmission, circulating air, etc.

And the ‘burnout rate’

about 20% got it and that is in line with typical “burn out” of a virus.

My memory on this is sketchy so ....

“It’s far too highly transmissable to be spread solely through droplet and fomite means.”

That is why I have been arguing that masks are doing very little to stop this. It is aerosol borne.

Then why does the flu go away in the summer?

The main reason is that flu infects more easily with irritated respiratory tracts. The best correlation with spread is not cold temperatures but dry air. Many viruses are are shown to spread more easily in low humidity and even with AC the RH indoors is higher in summer.

I’m glad you want to heap coals of fire on him with fruit punch. That is far better than the violence of the left.

Lots of A/C use in the Southwest would explain many summer cases.

And it jives with NE cases when people were indoors, while few cases occurred in the south and west as we were enjoying being outdoors. Now it's spring summer in the NE and peeps are outdoors, while AZ, TX, FL are inside seeking relief.

It drives me up a wall that all the scientists in the world can't see what's plainly sitting in front of their damn faces.

Not to mention the dangers are incredibly low for peeps under 70. There is little hope because of the number of sheeple in this country.

Science studies as well as anecdotal evidence suggest masks do help by reduce transmission even in aerosols.

“Science studies as well as anecdotal evidence suggest masks do help by reduce transmission even in aerosols.”

A link to the science studies data would be very helpful. All the science I have read says that unsealed masks are ineffective at stopping aerosol borne viruses.
