San Diego Police Shoot Fleeing Suspect, Video Shows he was Armed

A bit before 6 p.m., in downtown San Diego, California, two police officers noticed a man in a red tracksuit. He was wanted in connection with a recent robbery. He had a distinctive face tattoo, which is how the officers identified him so quickly.

In the ensuing confrontation, the suspect flees from the police, He drops what he is carrying, and is shot.

Protestors claim he was shot without justification. The next day, a hundred protestors gather. They threatened to “burn down the system“.

The San Diego police act quickly. They released a video of the shooting from four sources, including two police body cameras.

The video shows the suspect drawing a revolver and pointing it at police just moments before police open fire.

The well-done release by the San Diego Police took control of the narrative. It is worth watching and studying. It shows how easy it is to justifiably shoot someone in the back in defense of self and others.

Many have said shooting someone in the back is never justified. That is false. Real-world defensive shootings are seldom static.

They are fast, dynamic, and changing quickly. Adversaries are often moving, twisting, and turning.

It takes a fraction of a second from the time a decision is made to shoot, to the gun actually firing. In that time the position of a moving adversary can change quite a bit. Just because a person's back is momentarily turned toward you, does not stop them from being a deadly threat.

Ubiquitous security cameras and recording devices are making it harder and harder to characterize events in a simple, deceptive narrative.

Yeah, let’s defund the police and take away everyone’s gun.

Body cameras are a good idea. But, I think we sometimes forget how many street light cameras and stop light cameras are out there, already. It all seems a bit Orwellian, but I will support anything that helps the police.

Any arrested protester must be forced to watch all these videos as part of their sentencing in preparation for the next time they get the idea to mindlessly parrot a false flag narrative.

Any "news" outlet that parroted the false narrative must also broadcast the vindicating video, regardless of the ethnicity of the perpetrator. Those that won't need to have their broadcast license suspended.

Distinctive face tattoo and a red track suit.

This guy’s IQ is about 4.

That was a replica of a cap and ball pistol built after brass case ammo came into vogue in the 1870’s.This revolver was a 38 Special modern ammo revolver (very dangerous). These guns are used in Cowboy Matches throughout the country.

More evidence that locked-on body cameras are a great thing for honest cops.

In any jurisdiction where the police wear body cams — and assuming they haven’t been switched off or disabled — formal complaints against them drop significantly.

Yup, but there’s a lot of people even here on FR that don’t believe that.

The street cameras and private closed circuit cameras have a nasty habit of not being able to get what we the people would want recorded while recording things we don’t want.

“Many have said shooting someone in the back is never justified.”

Under certain circumstances and some states’ laws, shooting a fleeing felon in the back is not only permissible but encouraged.

don’t confuse the mob with facts, they have “their truth” and that’s all they need to riot, loot, vandalize and burn.

Just heard that the mob acted up because the DA declined to prosecute the cops.

There was a video a couple of days ago where a BLM guy walked up to a counter protestor and hit him in the face, right in front of a line of cops. The cops moved into to arrest him—within seconds you can hear someone say, “He hit him first!” Lying appears to be second nature to them.
