“Stick & stones may break my bone,
But words will never hurt me” ???

Just WIN, Baby

And just who is going to police a game of Scrabble at the dining room table?

OMG, they “obfuscated” the list to prevent the casual viewer from seeing them. But I was able to make out a few. Seems you can no longer use “Jew”, or “fatso”, or “Crip”. Hasbro, you have offically jumped over the shark with a might bound, between this, D&D, and MTG.

Why do some letters get more points that others? Just because they are rare doesn’t make them special. One point for all letters except for Y, which is a transletter consonant that self-identifies as a vowel sometimes.

If they don’t remove the letter N from the game entirely they are all the most racist people in the world and deserve to die.

As far a JEW goes: In Scrabble you could never use proper nouns. However JEW was OK because it is occasionally (if offensively) used as a verb.

The funny part of the story is that years ago when they tried to ban offensive words like JEW, it was Jewish players that led the charge to keep ALL valid words (offensive or otherwise) in the dictionary.

Even the Jews didn't want to be J***D out of using those words.

For a while now the Scrabble dictionary available in stores has been different than the OWL (Official Word List) used in official tournaments.

The Scrabble Dictionary was stripped of offensive words long ago, but the OWL had kept them in. Now the OWL will be the same as the Scrabble Dictionary, just easier to search.

There was already another word controversy as the rest of the world has a different dictionary than North America because the copyright to Scrabble was split in two. The rest of the world has a much larger dictionary which includes such wonderful words as EE and CH.

It's a real fustercluck.

BTW, Hasbro is a white supremacist dog-whistle code word for ‘slave master.’

Has-bro!?

These Nazi bastards don’t fool me for a minute.

What about words like ASS and BITCH? There are words like the N-Word that are considered to be ONLY offensive, however there are other words that have both offensive and inoffensive definitions.

There's a slippery slope there somewhere...

'The Eleventh Edition is the definitive edition,' he said. 'We're getting the language into its final shape--the shape it's going to have when nobody speaks anything else. When we've finished with it, people like you will have to learn it all over again. You think, I dare say, that our chief job is inventing new words. But not a bit of it! We're destroying words--scores of them, hundreds of them, every day. We're cutting the language down to the bone. The Eleventh Edition won't contain a single word that will become obsolete before the year 2050.'

...

'It's a beautiful thing, the destruction of words.

Newspeak is 17 points, unless you get doubleplusgoodword score, in which case it is 34.

Other words not allowed: B*M, B*TTY, P*X, KN*CKERS, KN*CKERS, W**-W** and SEMPRINI

Still depends on the player’s collective lexicons as agreeable to their satisfaction. You’ve got to realize that the offensive part lies in the eyes of the beholder and butt hurtedness has no influence on some majorities.

The asinine comment about the N-word only being worth 8 points is typical SJW-speak.

If you play it as a plural with all 7 letters then you can get an additional 50 point bonus for a bingo.

But even just playing the six letters you can get a bunch of points with hooks and letter/word bonuses.

I must confess that I had those letters on my rack once and was playing a Black gentleman and went with GINGER even though it might have been a few less points.

There was already another word controversy as the rest of the world has a different dictionary than North America because the copyright to Scrabble was split in two.

When that happened, half should have gone to Selchow, and half to Righter. None for Hasbro.

“Oh no, the scrabble police will kick down your door and arrest you!”

Obama probably purchased 10 million rounds of ammo for the Scrabble Police Agency.

My friends and I play by our own rules. Dirty words are ok but you have to do a shot of tequila. I think our “dirty word” collection just got bigger. Better go buy more limes...
