As President Donald Trump pushes to reopen schools in the fall amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, National Education Association (NEA) president Lily Eskelsen Garcia on Wednesday double-dog dared the president to sit in a class of 39 sixth graders and breathe that air.
Eskelsen Garcia on CNNs New Day slammed Trump for not using the term safely in his push to reopen, which she said is why the NEA supports his opponent former Vice President Joe Biden in the upcoming 2020 presidential election.
Host Alisyn Camerota asked, Are public schools ready to open in September?
You can see why we are supporting Joe Biden over Donald Trump. Did you hear the word he didnt use? Safely. Safely, Eskelsen Garcia replied. Theres no one that wants their kids back with us more than teachers. Maybe their parent. Maybe their parents beat us out there, but we want to open it safely. We see what happens when they let bars open prematurely and you saw those young adults went home and they infected everybody around them. This isnt a bar. Were talking about second graders. I had 39 sixth graders one year in my class. I double-dog dare Donald Trump to sit in a class of 39 sixth graders and breathe that air without any preparation for how were going to bring our kids back safely.

Of course the teacher’s union wants classes to remain closed.
They collect a full paycheck for doing zero work.
And I double-dog Ms Garcia to shut the f**k up.
Like most, I have no respect for the teacher’s union. Many individual teachers are a different story.
The Left has managed to shut down America. I don’t see any way to get them to agree voluntarily to any kind of reopening.
Bartenders and barbers couldnt work and they didn’t get paid. Teachers will start saying they won’t work and insist on still getting paid. And they’ll get it. But they shouldn’t. No government worker should be elevated above private citizens. They are not our betters.
This is the perfect opportunity to abolish the public school system. Use the money saved for new charter schools and private school vouchers.
If Trump is for it we are again it.
Oh so THIS is why they are supporting Biden.
Makes so much sense.
Neverminded the 40 years of ACCOMPLISHING NOTHING IN CONGRESS AND/OR AS VP Trump DIDN’T SAY THE WORD ‘SAFELY’
Withhold federal funds for school systems that don’t open.
LOL! Yeah there is that pesky issue of getting the United States back from Covid and of course, geopolitics and various repercussions of the decisions he makes.
But let’s instead focus on the problems of our teachers unions.
Id do it. I have no concerns, due to the supplements Im taking. Besides, I think my wife had it and all I got was maybe 3-5 single coughs a day for three days. No temperature or any other symptom, but my wife had multiple spiked fevers and several days of bad muscle pains.
I appear to be immune. Bring it on.
And what school has a class of 39 sixth graders?
Since when are class sizes that big at elementary schools?
Except for liberals kids most 6th graders are 12 yo.....much much MUCH less chance of contraction or have serious issues with c19....
NO ONE, especially anyone that will be "published" somehow will be "allowed" to gather unless and until every conceivable precaution is made beforehand, so the challenge is a mixture of impossible words.
The 6th graders will not be allowed to congregate unless thoroughly tested and socially distanced, so neither President Trump NOR Lily Eskelsen Garcia would be in any danger (as implied by the title of the hit piece)
Same here but I will bet they will be asking for more money.
Partisan Media Shills update.
Lunchrooms are still serving franks n beans on a daily basis, I see.
According to you libs, all the teacher needs is a magic mask and there’s no danger!
If he wears a BLM shirt he will be immune.
It should be a local decision. Teachers should not be the ones making the decision. Taxpayers should. Any such action must be based on valid health information.
Kids suit up:
