VA Officials Cave to Liberal Mob, Order US Flag Be Removed from Construction Site
The Western Journal ^ | 7/07/2020 | Ryan Foley

It has become clear beyond a reasonable doubt that many politicians live in trembling fear of the left-wing mob that is committed to tearing down every statue or symbol that commemorates American history.

Look no further than an unsettling situation that unfolded in Virginia last week.

In Richmond, Virginia, an American flag was put on display at the construction site for the new General Assembly building. That makes sense, since it was just ahead of the Fourth of July, America’s birthday.

However, based on the reaction from government officials, one would think that it was the Confederate flag that was put up.

Dena Potter, spokeswoman for the Virginia Department of General Services, said state officials had concerns about the flag’s safety as the nation grapples with left-wing mob violence on a mass scale.

Government officials = government cowards. They want the positions but they don’t want to lead and do the right thing. Like bureaucrats everywhere they run from responsibility.

And by Monday, I suspect the vast majority of construction workers had US flags decals on their helmets.

Unnamed state official should be looking for a new job right about now.

The order is unlawful.

Tell the cowards to quit trying to justify and encourage the rioting.

Tell those who might be "provoked" to get over it.

I thought it was Confederate flags, not Construction flags, they were after

“However, based on the reaction from government officials, one would think that it was the Confederate flag that was put up.”

Until the people get the idea of what this is, they won’t react intelligently by misapplying wrong reactions. These issues coming into existence are not race, religion, governmental theory, finance...none of it. It is a concerted, planned effort to attack and destroy everything that is the US. It is the destruction of everything we are and how we got there, mistakes or noteworthy. It is being done for a number of reasons depending on who you are and what you think you want.

No one, by themselves, can obliterate this country. But if you have a whole lot of different people coming from different directions, our overall standards, better than any place else in the world, can be chipped until they no longer matter and are discarded quietly into the night.

In this case, it isn’t an anti flag caving by the politicians. When the wife and I were young parents of kids able to walk, we had a choice. We could parent by leaving our things on reachable shelves and teach the children to leave them alone. Or we could remove them because children have to be taught respect for other people’s property. And that teaching had to include occasional punishment as they were young with no concept.

But these people (children) are old enough to understand the concept of property ownership. So, the politicians made their choice...they chose to remove the desired object rather than punish for its safety. They took a symbol of our country’s past, one that has waved, and wrapped, over the people that chose to give these new children the privilege of living here and having an opportunity to make their choice.

And if that choice requires punishment for the protecting of a cloth that symbolizes the so many that died, or worse, under it, for the privilege of displaying it, then that’s the fault of both the politicians and the rioters. They do not deserve to look at it. Neither is better than the other. The only difference is that one needs to be replaced and the other just made to disappear. That cloth has earned its place. They threw theirs away.

A simple question to a federal judge:

“Does the risk of ‘provoking’ violence from violent rioters supersede otherwise legally expressed constitutional civil rights?”

For example, does a black person ‘provoking’ violence by legally drinking from a water fountain *clearly* labeled as “White Only”, mean that government may prohibit him from drinking there?

the construction site for the new General Assembly building

The word "General" is racist. It is indelibly linked to the racist South because of the name "General" Lee.

What if the construction site raises the flag and says to the bureaucrats, “Come and arrest us”?

I’m sure a BLM or rainbow flag would have been A-OK.

The vast majority of construction workers are Mexicans, Guatemalans, Hondurans, El Salvadorans, so you’re probably wrong.

It depends where in the country you are located and what the trade is. Wood construction you would be correct when it comes to framers and other semi-skilled trades.

I work in that industry as a supplier in the mid-atlantic and northeast. For example, in Maryland, it is mostly hispanics. In Pennsylvania they are mostly Amish and Mennonite with some hispanic crews. New Jersey, especially along the shore are mostly caucasian and lots of eastern europeans.

Skilled trades is a different story.

Those who demanded removal of the flag, and those who consented should start having “accidents”.
