The legacy of slavery never appears to be far from the lips of the angry and the gleeful eyes of a media machine that revels in creating friction. It is an issue as divisive as it ever was, but it is also one of the few hot topics surrounded by such myth and misleading information that one wonders if the waters on this are muddied with intent.
It seems strange that despite having ended in the U.S. in 1865 and in the U.K. in 1833, slavery in one form or another still exists today. How is this possible, you might ask? Have you ever met someone who trafficks in human beings? Have you ever heard of a neighbor owning an actual person? And yet it does happen. To discover how this abhorrent practice continues today, even thriving in some places, we need to ask the age-old question: who benefits?
How many people alive in the United States today would support slavery? Thats a key question that is never asked. There will undoubtedly be a tiny minority, almost negligible on a nationwide scale, but the overwhelming majority would respond with a resounding no. So how is this still an issue that divides us?.........

The democrat party; the party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow laws and the inventors of segregation. Conservatives are just shaking their heads in disbelief. How could you guys be pointing at us?
I have felt that race is the biggest issue in the United States for decades. Race issues manifest themselves in so many ways and not just in the obvious. But problems in schools crime violence illegitimacy employment quotas and politics
Two replies so far and neither one read it. Typical FR.
Quite right, and what is more, that land people abandon when they seek a better life in a rich country also gets more easily swallowed up by rapacious globalists, so the open borders thing really is the mark of the globalist beast. Any time you see it, that is who you are dealing with.
It's the same today. However, companies know that supporting slavery is a PR nightmare for them, so they spend money on enhancing their image and virtue signaling rather than spend money on wages. Decent wages would cost them more than the PR and virtue signaling.
While the Western Countries have outlawed the outright ownership of people, there are numerous countries that still allow slavery. Global countries take advantage of this for cheap labor, rather than using their clout to insist on ending the abhorrent practices.
The corporations who do this crap are a bunch of evil hypocrites. And the people who support open borders are also enablers of modern day De-facto slavery by having an ever-expanding group of people who can be taken advantage of.
And no surprise that group is predominantly the DemoKKKrats-the party of the KKK and slavery. Aided and Abetted by the spineless cheap labor express-Globalist RINO GOPe
Which is also why electing Trump was throwing a spanner in the gears of the rapacious globalist machine. Build the wall, levy tariffs, and reshore production are all anti-slavery initiatives in addition to being pro-American and pro-labor.
Some countries have laws that you can’t own land unless you’re a citizen. Mexico is one and the US should be one.
“so the open borders thing really is the mark of the globalist beast. Any time you see it, that is who you are dealing with.”
That is a great point.
With open boarders they are literally trying to dissolve the nation. But its not just our nation, but many in Europe.
They won’t be able to impose world government with strong nations and that is the end game.
Interesting....so actually Kaepernick is supporting slavery by taking money from Nike.
We could shut up a lot of this crap if we could get this take on it out there.

AND ARE SUPPORTING BLM
I recently listened to a “Lectures in History” podcast on C-SPAN from 2010. The professor said only 5% of African slaves were shipped to the US Colonies. The vast majority went to Caribbean islands and Brazil.
