The trials of EMP weapons have been under way since 2015. The latest firing of EMP cannons took place this spring. At present, the average range of EMP cannons against aerial targets is 7-8 km, with the maximum of 10 km, one of the sources said, adding that the range of such weapons was previously estimated at 1-2 km.

Smuggle them into a country and then take out their electric grid.

I would settle for a couple of rows of Claymore mines along the sides of my truck.
Hard to make promises like the “range of an RF weapon” as stated in this article.
Physics and electromagnetic shielding require vast amounts of power to overcome at range, perhaps more than can be transmitted from a single point source due to ionization/ breakdown of air.
It’s a good story though.
