The Turtle needs to get in gear and start making all the conservative appointments he can. The GOP holding the senate is problematic even if Trump wins.

Yeah, worst case hopes seem to be apparent. Senate off until July 20. Maybe 3 to 4 weeks of work until summer recess.

Graham and McConnell have campaigns to run. Ron Johnson and Graham are duds foe committee investigations. Maybe subpoenas will take most of the remaining time.

Seems judges are dead until Nov 4.

Do you know how many openings there are?

There are no more Circuit vacancies. All have been filled.

There are about 40 nominees to current District vacancies. I haven’t looked into the total number.

From the Ballotpedia article:

There were 73 vacancies out of 870 active Article III judicial positions,
a total vacancy percentage of 8.4.

• The nine-member U.S. Supreme Court does not have any vacancies.

• None of the 179 U.S. Appeals Court positions are vacant.

• 71 (10.5%) of the 677 U.S. District Court positions are vacant.

• Two (22.2%) of the nine U.S. Court of International Trade positions are vacant.

You can see why the Article III federal judiciary is so important: 677 people in the United States can thwart the President of the United States at will.

A cabal of two judges in the appeals courts [out of 179] can thwart the President of the United States at will.

And a gang of 5 judges in the Supreme Court can thwart the President of the United States.

The Left knew what it was about when it started the stealth takeover of the federal judiciary.

Actually, I think that’s it. For now, there are NO federal vacancies Trump can fill that are not at the district level where the “blue slip” process is still being observed. There, I think only about 5 vacancies remain.

So for a while, this thread will be meaningless.

Linda has too many pressure points the deep state can twist. He even said he would relinquish the Judiciary chair after this term.

Josh Hawley or Ted Cruz need to head it up. If we still have a majority.

Out of the 44 district court nominations currently, only 12 do not have to honor blue slip. The other 32 are from 2 D senator states. The quality of the 32 have to be left.

There are still 71-44 or 27 left to nominate.

Yes, some of the CommieLand district courts are pretty light when it comes to full staffing.

Hopefully, the "judges" in those district are being run ragged.

The Turtle needs to get in gear There are now zero vacancies on the Courts of Appeals - first time in 40 years. Record after record broken in getting appointments through despite unprecedented obstruction. I'd say that more than qualifies for "getting it in gear."

All of the vacancies are just about filled...there’s literally not much left to do.

But none if the blue-slips are honored. It’s quite an astounding achievement to have completely filled the vacancies.
