Snyder has done this before. He’ll claim the team will study a name change, the liberals will wet themselves about the great change they are making for the good of society thus confirming their own self-importance and then, after the pressure dies down, Snyder announces the Indians are cool with it and there will be no change.
I believe that script has, indeed, been successfully used in the past.
