Fifty-one percent of liberals and 45 percent of Democrats told a pollster that too few of their fellow Americans are willing to fill construction, technology, hospitality, and other service jobs, regardless of pay.
From June 23 to June 28, Rasmussen asked its panel of 1,500 likely voters:
People say immigrants fill construction, technology, hospitality and other service jobs that Americans don’t want. Are there Americans who would take those jobs if pay and working conditions were improved or are there just not enough Americans willing to do that kind of work?
Most Americans recognized that their fellow citizens would work “if pay and working conditions were improved.” The recognition came from 70 percent of Republicans, 67 percent of conservatives, but just 34 percent of liberals and 41 percent of Democrats.
The opposite view — “There are just not enough Americans willing to do that kind of work” — was endorsed by 45 percent of Democrats, 51 percent of liberals, and by just 19 percent of Republicans and 20 percent of conservative.
The claim that Americans will not work in tough, dangerous, or dirty jobs is contradicted by data.
Of the 474 civilian occupations, only six are majority immigrant (legal and illegal). These six occupations account for 1 percent of the total U.S. workforce. Moreover, native-born Americans still comprise 46 percent of workers in these occupations.
There are no occupations in the United States in which a majority of workers are illegal immigrants.
“It is a sad state of affairs when democrats and liberals prefer mass immigration over increasing wages for American workers,” said Rosemary Jenks of NumbersUSA. “These woke Americans need to step out of their bubbles a bit more and look at what their preferences actually mean for average Americans—especially the minorities they pretend to champion.”

This is consistent with liberals’ low opinion of the human condition.
Not only because it is unfair for those who have to pay, it’s now unmistakably clear that not working and being productive is thoroughly de-humanizing. It’s like being an over-indulgent parent and raising a spoiled and incompetent child.

Is this a California thing where people on the left coast see Latinos as servants? My son recently returned to Ohio after being stationed at Camp Coronado for years. He was surprised to see how many minorities here worked in decent jobs. A few of my acquaintances have domestic help, but they are typically white people.
There is no such thing a labor shortage, only a wage shortage.
Wages have been stagnant for 30 years because the right and the left wing has shipped jobs overseas and imported scab labor.
End immigration first. You keep up this level of LEGAL immigration and get rid of welfare and we will become socialist/Communists.
Most Americans can, would, and have performed these jobs in past days. They just wont do it for the same amount they pay illegals to perform the labor.
The mantra has become "these are jobs Americans wont do". That's absolute BS. Enforce hiring laws and wages will rise and jobs will be filled...

You are being an idiot once again. The only reason for LEGAL immigration is to increase the labor supply and to decrease pressure on wages. It is the law of supply and demand working against higher wages you dolt. In addition, when factory jobs are off shored you will also get an increase in the labor supply and a lot of social upheaval - which Democrats take advantage of .
