Some young people in Alabama are throwing Covid-19 parties, a disturbing competition where people who have coronavirus attend and the first person to get infected receives a payout, local officials said.
The parties are being held in Tuscaloosa, and infected people are urged to attend so others can intentionally contract the virus, City Council member Sonya McKinstry told CNN. She said she heard about the trend from fire officials.
"We thought that was kind of a rumors at first. We did some research, not only do the doctors' offices confirm it, but the state confirmed they also had the same information," she said. During a presentation to the City Council this week, Fire Chief Randy Smith also said young people in the city are throwing parties with a payout if they catch coronavirus, McKinstry said.
The first person confirmed by a doctor to have coronavirus after the exposure wins the money made off the ticket sales, she said. Over the past few weeks, there have been several parties in the city and surrounding areas, and probably more that officials don't know about, she added. "It makes me furious," McKinstry said. "Furious to the fact that something that is so serious and deadly is being taken for granted. ...you could contract the virus and take it home to your parents or grandparents."

Her stats are intentionally misleading. She is calculating the CFR which even the CDC has said is not a real measurement of what is going on but she clings to this and then tells of a model that is wrong. But you get it.

Again with the fake claims that there are more cases than confirmed because of serology testing? So, because a lot of people have positive coronavirus antibody tests following cold and flu season, we are to count them as Covid-19 cases without ANY confirmatory virus testing whatsoever?
For the director of the CDC to say such a thing in a press conference was irresponsible. He should have checked with some of his experts before saying that; the CDC website itself points out that antibody testing is an unreliable measure of past Covid-19 infection.
Yes, I am perfectly aware that one reason you refuse to ever back up your claims with references or links is because you know that I have the knowledge and experience to check and understand those references and explain what they really mean. Did you know that there are 224 articles indexed in PubMed documenting the cross-reactivity of antibodies against different strains of coronaviruses? Cat anti-coronavirus antisera cross-react with pig and human coronaviruses! While antibody cross-reactivity has big implications for the severity of Covid-19 infection, it also means that serology testing is useless to retroactively determine past infection. For that, the *only* way to confirm would be to detect residual viral RNA. Remnants of some viruses remain in the body for months after infection--could Covid-19 virus remnants remain?

The goal of the Progs is to keep everyone in a perpetual state of fear. We went from slow the spread to stop the spread. Even slowing the spread was a dubious idea.
If you can prove you have immunity then tou should be free from all restrictions. But I will bet that we will soon be treated to no one is allowed the privileges of immunity until we all have immunity. The circumstances are different but this reminds me of measles parties where parents intentionally exposed their kids to get it now as opposed to later.

You are right it is suspect that is has exploded across the south. Some attribute it to being inside seasons down here. But let’s assume it’s BioWar. If it’s been circulating for a while do you think there a second charge was sent in? Another attack if you will? The timing is strange. Or is it explainable by other things. I am wary that this is a bio weapon but if it is did it fizzle? Or was it a psychological operation?

Yet the CDC posts stats just like the ones I calculate daily on their website. So does Johns Hopkins. And the WHO uses exactly the same calculation that I do to come up with their death rates. There is a reason they aren't adding positive serology results to those stats. They know--at least the people doing the work know--that antibodies can't differentiate between different strains of a virus--sometimes, they can't even differentiate between closely related virus species). Because I am a scientist, I will *never* pad data with highly questionable numbers just because the padded data supports a certain political narrative.
It actually makes me sick that so-called conservatives (like yourself) have decided that pushing a narrative is better than sticking with the truth. I expect such duplicity with leftists, not conservatives.
