Neighbors Sign Letter Condemning St. Louis Gun-Bearing Couple
Nearly three dozen residents have signed the letter
After a St. Louis couple wielded guns from their front yard at a Black Lives Matter protest, dozens of neighbors sign a letter condeming [sic] their actions.

Since the incident, around three dozen neighbors who live on Westermoreland Place, where the McCloskey's also dwell, have signed a letter condemning the actions of the couple.
The letter explains that Westermore Place and the adjoining street Portland Place are historic neighborhoods with the City of St. Louis representing many walks of life.
"As the undersigned, we condemn the behavior of anyone who uses threats of violence, especially through the brandishing of firearms, to disrupt peaceful protest, whether it be in this neighborhood or anywhere in the United States," the letter reads.
The residents wrote that they seek positive action and constructive dialogue to build a civil society.

Never mind the media. Why dont we have this photo here?
See my comment above.
Yep, minus the blimp, can’t remember what it’s called, to muffle the wind noise.
A couple of points
1. Neighborhood is gated with private armed security paid from HOA fees.
2. 100 homes in the neighborhood. 24 residences signed.
3. The protestors Broke through and destroyed the gate on Portland Place. The neighbors who signed all live on an adjacent street...Westmoreland Place.
4. Tim Noonan, leader of the group, former marine and Boeing exec.
Like I was telling another FReeper, a barber shop here got busted for selling Israeli machine guns (among other guns).
What a DISASTER it would have been for blm and antifa to attack that place.
If you’re a mobster using a barber shop as a front to sell guns and God knows what else, chances are you’re gonna use what you got if attacked.
And as we know, the one that gets caught means there’s a bunch that didn’t.
Buncha crooked wops :)
But if antifa or blm attacked the south shore, they would get massacred.
As in many other suburbs of southern states and midwestern states.
South Jersey would be in trouble.
All the civilized Italians left Staten Island to go there :)
Certain irrational persons are insisting that property crimes are not violent. We need ready answers/ ammo...
Maybe they should move to a rural area to the east of them. He might find that being a defense attorney would sometimes be rewarding in self-defense cases.
When did they start requiring someone else’s permission to defend one’s family and property?
Bet that's a "No".
I actually hope they do, after this idiocy.
That being said, I was walking down a side street in brooklyn and there was a blm parade up the block on the main road.
Five hispanic guys on a this dark side road asked me why I wasn’t marching.
I said “it’s not my concern”
And yeah I was very nervous.
I didn’t give one of my tough FR answers :)
Even if 2 other guys had been with me I’d have felt ok.
But it was nerve wracking.
I’ve seen 4 marches. They are tense things that feel like they could explode at any minute.
I will be disappointed if Gov Parson hangs them out to dry, considering they made efforts to get private security and could not.
But politicians are still cowered by Ferguson.
[[dozens of neighbors sign a letter condeming [sic] their actions.]]
dozens of Pansies in the neighborhood who ignorantly think that big government will always protect everyone, sign a letter condeming [sic] their actions.
There, fixed it
[[OK, if the demonstrators come back, and start ransacking the houses or demanding money, what are these neighbors to do?]]
Change their Depends frequently of course
WTF. They broke their metal gate in and broke into his property. Is your yard not part of your Private property?
Yes.
How come they can’t hire private security?
I really worry about these poor people. Someone needs to protect them.I know they probably big libs, but crap they need help.
The firms turned them down.
Dunno if too busy or didn’t want the controversy.
Thanks for posting that.
I will share.
There is a reason so many nice old brick buildings have been boarded up in St. Louis. Cultural decay leads to infrastructure and housing decay.
