They way it works is that the charges are assigned, one at a time. You start out with the ones that are the easiest to prove. You don’t charge them with 30 counts of the same thing—because you would have to provide testimony on all of them. It would take forever and the jury would get confused.
And in the end, the sentence isn’t going to be all that different.
You can negotiate using the other charges.
In the end they want the blackmail tapes to come out.
