Seattle saw a staggering 525 percent spike in crime as a result of the violence that swept through the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest zone, according to Mayor Jenny Durkan.
Durkan’s emergency order booting protesters from the six-block cop-free zone makes mention of the “narcotics use and violent crime, including rape, robbery, assault, and increased gang activity” within the CHOP since it first emerged in early June.

The CHOP crime spree includes the deaths of two black teens, ages 19 and 16, who were fatally shot in separate incidents.

Six blocks of a major US City and they have five times the crime? That’s a lot of crime for such a little area to effect a city as large as Seattle’s Crime Numbers.

I thought the whole idea was that there was no “Crime” seeing as there were no police.
Who would have thought the not allowing police or any other law enforcement into an area would lead to more criminal activity? That’s a stunner.

They’re getting the government they voted for. CHOP/CHAZ/PUTZ/etc is in City Council District 3, elected councilperson is...you can guess, can’t you?

well, gee, jenny, that would be all your fault since you allowed the anarchy zone to exist in the first place and then aided and abetted it for weeks with city-provided barriers, porta-potties and other free services paid by the very taxpayer that your crime spree was unleashed upon ...
For her to go from “summer of love” to “too much crime this has to be stopped” means some polling numbers have come in that show in this election year she had better change course.
This woman was selected by the Democratic Party elite in the State to be Mayor of Seattle and practically handed the position. Her lack of leadership has been obvious to everyone, but that doesn't matter as she is still the darling of the political elite who determine who gets elected.
