Sheriff’s deputies in West Hollywood say they’ll begin fining people spotted without a face covering in public.
The violation carries a $300 price tag for first-time offenders, including a $250 fine and $50 fee, the sheriff’s station said in a tweet.
Deputies said enforcement begins this month, indicating it is effective immediately.
The fine will be issued as an administrative citation, meaning it will not result in a criminal record.

The orders have largely gone unenforced with punitive measures. The West Hollywood station is the only in the county Sheriff’s Department to institute a citation, and L.A. Police Department Chief Michel Moore previously said he didn’t plan to issue fines.

I think the deputies are giving tickets because the West Hollywood City Council wanted that to happen...
Even LA Mayor Eric Garcetti is not threatening people with tickets for not wearing the mask...I guess I will give him credit for that...
If the real intention is to turn the average person against the police then this policy is brilliant. Expect it to spread.
The fine will be closer to $1,000 after all of the local taxes and penalties are applied. Ironically this will impact more Democrats than Republicans and especially poor people. Stupid idiots vote Democrat they deserve this.

As this is a policy not a law and is unevenly enforced I wonder if it it would stand uo in court. Where i’s the ACLU on a true civil liberty issue. /s
West Hollywood has a budget deficit. All those LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ programs are creating a budget shortfall
Defund the police.
Get a group together and stand just outside the line with no masks on with signs telling people, "DO NOT ENTER!! MASK AREA AHEAD!!"

My experience in the Third World was yes, and that would buy you a decent discount. I imagine that we’re going down that road.
Not a problem. GIBLETS love wearing masks and being dominated, then punished by men in uniform.

I used to live on the Sunset Strip, about a block from West Hollywood, back when Gerald Ford was president. It was a fun place to live, but I’m glad I don’t live there now.
