The person responsible for shooting and nearly killing a senior dog at a Richmond park late last year has been charged. Timothy Holloway, 32, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals, a third-degree felony. Holloway confessed to shooting and abandoning the dog at Harlem Road Park in Dec. 2019, according to a Facebook post from the Fort Bend County Constable's Office, Precinct 3.
"Justice for Clarence!" officials stated in the post. "It took six months of hard work and investigation but today brings closure to this case." Named "Clarence," the then-11-year-old pit was found in a small wire kennel at the park with two gunshot wounds to the face. Police said he had been shot at close range while inside the kennel and had been abandoned for upwards of 12 hours before being found.
The injuries cost Clarence his left eye. Bullet fragments were found lodged in his upper jaw, sinus cavity and bone and he is still dealing with health issues today. He has been recovering at Wag Again Rescue and is currently "excelling" at being trained as a therapy dog, according to a Facebook post from the rescue.
"Thank you to Fort Bend County Constable's Office, Precinct 3, Constable Wayne Thompson, Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce and everyone who worked tirelessly to get justice for Clarence," the rescue stated in a Facebook post.

Where's the outrage from PETA against the black man? Hello????? (Crickets). PETA is AFRAID of going after this black suspect for shooting the poor dog. Hypocrisy!!!
I can hardly wait for the brilliant gun control law some Leftist will push to make sure “never again!”
They did catch the rioter in Provo if that is the one you are talking about.
The one in the green cap who shot the guy in the truck? Link please?
Both of them are worthless except for cops to use up stale ammo in practice.

1) Ok, this guys is not restrained by all the political correctness so he can do his job at least on this task force. The rest of his job maybe not so much.
2) It is local with local support. We need to support our police, not criticize them constantly. So the question is, how do we support our local police and encourage them. We may need them..............................
I repeat, WHAT CAN WE DO TO ENCOURAGE OUR LOCAL POLICE?
They investigate and charge a black man for killing a dog but most blacks killing other blacks are stil on the streets...priorities, I guess.
I thought the AMISH loved dogs?
#DogLivesMatter more than #WorthlessScumLives.
You must understand the rage of social injustice and white privilege that African-Americans experience EVERY DAY before criticizing their behavior. Stealing and burning down things is just an outgrowth of the Black experience in an unjust America. Killing a dog is just an outgrowth of that and he shouldn’t be judged. < /BLM logic >
I’M THINKING, this dog descended from some slave owner, and he was just trying to express his anger.
Clarence the dog is going on 2 years old. Now he has bullet
fragments forever lodged in his head and jaw.
It may have been more humane just to put him down.
I’m glad they caught the culprit.
There’s no excuse leaving an animal in that state of suffering.
I’d bet that shooting a dog to put it down is pretty common in Texas and not illegal in itself, but if you are going to do it:
a: make sure you actually kill the dog, preferably quickly and painlessly
and
b: don’t leave it in a public park!
Years back our neighbor (in name only) had a sweet pup. It ran unrestrained and was not a threat to anything. One of her pot head friends freaked out and said the dog attacked him and he was going to file charges. The drunken homeowner gave a loaded gun to a youth and told him to dig a hole and put the dog in it and shoot it. We heard the shot and the dog screaming. My husband took our gun and went over to see what was happening. The kid was covering the dog while it was still alive. It was suffering terribly and my husband had to shoot it to end the suffering. It was a black day. We have nothing to do with the neighbors. Life goes on as usual for them. There will come a day of reckoning.
We starting to make animals the equivalent of people. When did the mere killing of an animal— quick death — become cruelty? Maybe some other offense, such as unlawful discharge of a weapon. Or killing an animal that you don’t own.
Man, I understand. From now on, animals lives matter more than all human lives. I am a convert.
You starting to sound dumber than most animals I've owned. Have you starting to see a vet lately?
