A suspect in the disappearance of a 20-year-old Fort Hood soldier killed himself as law enforcement approached Tuesday night and a second person, a civilian, is now in the custody of the Texas Rangers and awaiting charges as the investigation into human remains found on the post continues, officials with the base say.
The unnamed soldier, officials said, was wanted in connection with the disappearance of Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, who was last seen April 22 in a parking lot outside her Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters. Her car keys, barracks room key, ID card and wallet were found in the room where she was working the day she disappeared.
Wednesday morning, officials at the Fort Hood confirmed they were attempting to locate an unnamed junior soldier who left the post late Tuesday and that as law enforcement officers approached him he reportedly pulled out a gun and killed himself.

On June 19, Pvt. Gregory Morales' body was also found 3200 block of Florence Road. He went missing last year but is supposedly not related to the Guillen case. Ft. Hood seems to have an unusual number of dead and missing soldiers.

I assume this was the sergeant who was sexually harassing her.
There’s no such thing as a Command Sergeant in the Army. There’s a Command Sergeant Major however.
What about "Corporal-Captain"?
A horrible and sad story.
I had read the body was found not far from a previous murder victim?
Many years ago I lived in Killeen, many very nice people many nice times.
Very good, I was hoping you’d get the reference.
Capt. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce : That’s a new directive from the Pentagon. That’s right out of G2 and G3 making a G5 Combined Officers Op-Tech Glitch. We’re experimenting with a new rank: Corporal-Captain. We’re down here taking a survey, to see, uh, you know, if everybody likes it, uh, asking everybody in Seoul.
Capt. B.J. Hunnicut : Goldman-Hawkins, right?
Capt. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce : Right.
Colonel : Well, I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all!
Capt. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce : [to BJ] Uh, put down one “No;” one “Against.”
Capt. B.J. Hunnicut : Right. One “Negative; Corporal-Captain.”
Capt. Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce : Thank you, Colonel. We really appreciate your help in this.
Colonel : No, Sir! I don’t like it at all!
Radar : He doesn’t like it at all.
A retired navy woman spoke out a few days ago said she was raped onboard a ship 20 years ago by 3 crewmen. At the time they told her if she reported it she would be weighted down and thrown overboard and no one would find her.
My BIL had an Army command and said this still happens way to often. It was way worse back when he went in the late 70’s.
“If it bleeds,it leads” gets extra points with a military background. Civilians don’t understand that the military is just a cross section of society.
20+ years at FR and that's one of the stupidest things I've ever read here. She left her home, took an oath to serve, and wore her country's uniform. At a time in this country when others her age are actively spending their time dodging responsibility, she signed up to serve and defend your freedom. She was a soldier and she was murdered.
She was a PFC detailed to her unit's arms room. When I was a company commander, it was regular practice to select only from the most responsible and mature soldiers and NCOs to work in the arms room. I suspect that has not changed.
Oh my god
Not surprised. Not surprised one bit.
Yes I was going to say what a piece of shit this freeper is. A women hater for sure.
