A piece published by Time raised eyebrows after calling for a cultural reckoning of how superheroes are depicted amid the national dialogue that has cracked down on how TV shows and films portray police and law enforcement.
Time writer Eliana Dockterman began the piece -- titled "We're Re-examining How We Portray Cops Onscreen. Now It's Time to Talk About Superheroes" -- by noting the recent cancellations of "Cops" and "Live PD" following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and how even "Paw Patrol" has become a target.
"But as we engage in this long overdue conversation about law enforcement, its high time we also talk about the most popular characters in film, the ones who decide the parameters of justice and often enact them with violence: superheroes," Dockterman wrote Monday.
She described superheroes as "cops with capes who enact justice with their powers" who are usually "straight, white men who either function as an extension of a broken U.S. justice system or as vigilantes without any checks on their powers."

If it did it was way after I quit reading them.
The problem with “Cops” and “Live PD” was it got too close to the truth.
Relocate them all to the Wakanda universe!

Any inch you give them they take and add ....a time zone.
Same thing when it comes to other aspects and facets of society. Left to their own devices, the Left would change everything. They may claim to support free speech and freedom, but they would ban anything that is not fully (fully) supportive of their particular world view. That is why they need to be pushed back against.
Do not be surprised if they even go after In God We Trust, a phrase that (whether you believe it or not) doesnt hurt anyone. But they will go after it. They will go after those who home school. After churches. After what car you should drive, or how much you can earn, or how much you can keep of what you earn.
The end game of Liberalism taken to its full evolution is not freedom. It is State control, a form of Communism without the silly murals of farmers holding sickles. The Final Form of Liberalism at its zenith is simple - control. Control of what you can do, what you can say, what you can think. Control over your specific rights.
Control.
And there is no end to control. Like a black hole, it always has room to swallow more rights and freedoms. And in a modern world of technology and nigh-omniscient/omnipresent surveillance, that Control can be almost absolute.
In the US there is already something similar to Chinas social credit system. But rather than an array of highly sophisticated cameras with face recognition everywhere - the Chinese approach; what you have in the US is simply millions of people with cellphones that take video and will record you if you say or do something that is not agreeable. That can cost you - career, friendships, etc.
Anyway, never cave! Ever.
Good God. We are raising the weakest generation ever.
Well, not “we”, but man.

...and his sidekick Throbbin. Gotta keep the pervs happy.
Wait. I’m confused. TIME is being criticized FOR calling for superhero reform?
They don’t want us to have our own culture.
There were people blasting the Purge announcement over megaphones or other amplified sounds at the riots. Youtube footage exists.
NOW said at their founding the goal was to take away his power.
Equality was never their goal it was always supremacy.
Why am I reminded of Wendy and Marvin?
I never cared for superheroes even as a kid. I preferred the Cisco Kid, Lone Ranger and other works of fiction based on normal people and not flying supermen. Others I liked were SI-FI comics, COMBAT and THRILLER.
As Siskel and Ebert said one time years ago, the early movie makers were raised on great literature, and made movies about such. Today’s movie makers were raised on superhero comic books.
Maybe I’ll come up with my own superhero : Pinochetman. He takes commie libs on one way flights to the ocean. He takes extra pride in trashing SJW minorities. For truth justice and the unwoke way!
