It has been said that the French Revolution ultimately led to two things, and two things only. A pile of headless corpses, and a tyrant ruling France.
I know Sen. Graham doesn’t get a lot of love on these threads, but he has a strong historical perspective on how revolutionaries eventually turn on each other.
Having done a fair amount of reading about both the French and Russian revolutions, I can see the parallels today. I fully expect internecine violence between now and the election. Apparently, we’re already seeing it in Seattle, Chicago, New York, and elsewhere.
We normals should keep our heads down for now. Our enemies might just save us the trouble of destroying them.
And, ultimately, another king.
Good thing it’s not a NOOSE!
THe guillotine is not “horrifying”, it is ridiculous.
“It has been said that the French Revolution ultimately led to two things, and two things only. A pile of headless corpses, and a tyrant ruling France.”
And not just any Tyrant, but Napoleon Bonaparte, the man who invented the police state.
I’d say 3 things. The obliteration of religion.
People writing op-eds, opinion pieces need to pound in:
Unless they are told “NO” in no uncertain terms ie stopped, they will keep pushing there actions further; after all, why not?
Where did the get a guillotine? (Asking for a friend.)
Constructing it themselves seems like more work than they’re willing to do.
I do like that the blade is painted in the colors of the Washington DC “No Representation” movement.
Bezos is being run by CIA. This is just for show!
From the leftist point of view, what could be better?
“French Revolution was good because it toppled a monarchy.”
Is anybody really that stupid? Or immoral?
I’m triggered.
Where’s my safe space!
OK Joke time. During the French Revolution a philosopher, a lawyer and an engineer were sentenced to die by guillotine. The philosopher went first and being an optimist, elected to lie face up and watch the blade descend. The blade was released but stopped an inch above the philosophizers neck and he was freed.
The lawyer citing precedent elected the same position and likewise was saved.
The engineer seeing a pattern and looked up as the other two had done...but then said,” I think I see your problem”.
