On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologise for the Climate Scare, said an article published in Forbes magazine by Mike Shellenberger.
At least it did, till Forbes caved to furious green activists and pulled it within hours of publication. By arguing that climate change is real but not the end of the world and not even our most serious environmental problem, Shellenberger had been found guilty of wrongthink.

Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.Frontpage Interview with Dr. Theodore Dalrymple: Our Culture, Whats Left Of It interviewed by Jamie Glazov [August 31, 2005]

“I thought Forbes was a financial magazine.”
It is, as is the Wall Street Journal, the Chamber of Commerce, the Financial Times, etc. When capitalism was a thing, they had one editorial slant.
Now we are immersed in blend of globalism, socialism, oligarchy and fascism. All of their editorial positions have been adjusted to that new reality.
Read National Geographic from the 1960s, and then today. They are the same in name only. Same for all the “financial” magazines and groups. They are about *money*, not capitalism.
They are experts in money in a globalist, crony capitalist economy and nothing more. They can tell you how to invest in such a world and they are quite happy with it. They care not a whit for the American republic and find it quaint and embarrassing...something to move away from.
