Donald Trump may drop out of the 2020 presidential race if he believes he has no chance of winning, a Republican Party operative reportedly told Fox News.
The claim comes in a report in the presidents favourite news outlet that cites a number of GOP insiders who are concerned about Mr Trumps re-election prospects amid abysmal polling numbers. Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, currently holds an average lead of nine points over the incumbent, according to a tracker of 2020 polls by RealClearPolitics. Crucially, Mr Trump has lost support from older white voters typically a bedrock of support for the Republican Party and a group that was crucial to his narrow 2016 victory.
Mr Trump is also trailing the former vice president in almost all the swing states. Its too early, but if the polls continue to worsen, you can see a scenario where he drops out, one anonymous GOP operative told Fox News. Charles Gasparino, the author of the Fox News report, said in a series of tweetsthat he had spoken to major players in the Republican party for the story.
One of them described Mr Trumps mood as fragile as his chances of a second-term looked increasingly dim. Another of the GOP sources cited in the report said of the likelihood that Mr Trump will drop out:

Gasparino? I wasn’t expecting this report to come from him.

Trump didn’t take and survive all the BS they threw at him for the last 5 years, just to drop out ahead of the election. More wisful thinking by a load of half-wits.

The very thought of someone with the low mental capacity of Biden ever being in a position to give launch approval for an ICBM is scary and preposterous

According to staunch Trump supporter Jeff Kuhner - the radio talk show host - internal polling also shows Trump down by double digits . When October comes around - watch out for the second wave of the Wuhan virus - and subsequently mail in voting and no debates . Not looking good .

Why would it be scary? The idea of *any* Democratic president after Truman launching a nuke against an adversary has about as much credibility as Elton John turning straight. Despite what paleos might tell you - the Democrats are the party of retreat. Obama tried to withdraw from Afghanistan, but was worried that this would be perceived as weak, affecting Hillary’s presidential bid. He certainly withdrew from Iraq. If Hillary had been elected, she would have withdrawn from Afghanistan. Benghazi is what Democrats do - retreat from the possibility of casualties, even if men have to be left behind. What they do best is plinking from a distance, the way Slick Willy waited for bin Laden’s mosque to clear before sending million dollar cruise missiles to destroy some tents.

Trump and the word ‘fragile’ do not belong together. Pres Trump ran for office because he knew that time had run out to save this Republic from the communist globalist conglomerate. He will finish what he has started and needs the help of all American citizens to do so. We are seeing the future being played out before us if we do not help him get reelected. The fake media and their false polls and other attempts to wear him out are to be expected. With our help Pres Trump will win in Nov and continue to Make America Great Again.

Obviously they never watched The Apprentice. Quitting was about the worst thing you could do, in Trump’s estimation.
