As face masks become a societal norm, many people are speaking out against those who are choosing not to wear them, and some critics say that wearing a mask may determine how smart you are.
John Lundin, a self-described environmental activist and author, recently tweeted, A mask is not a political statement. Its an IQ test. His tweet was met with many comments of support.
A recent Gallup/Knight Foundation poll that asked, In the past 7 days, how often did you wear a mask or cloth face covering outside your home? showed that 30% of high school graduates, 41% of college graduates and 46% of postgraduates always wear masks.

By the way, does staying home mean you are smarter than people who go out and about with masks?
Means just the opposite ... might as well wear a beanie with a propeller on the top. It is every bit as useful as the masks and doesn’t make the person look like a frightened sheep
Smart people should know sometimes the kind thing to do is wear the damn mask, especially in elevators in a medical building where you're likely to encounter a "senior", probably with a few medical conditions.
I was on an elevator with three people in such a building and each of us was wearing a mask. One of the passengers was a senior woman. A fourth got on --- no mask, and the senior woman looked terrified and turned and faced the corner of the elevator. Gratefully she only had one more floor to go.
After she got off the macho man looked at us and said "no one can tell me to wear a mask". I'm so pleased I wasn't the one who replied with a hearty "eff you".
Elevator? Holy crap. Never thought about that. There are no elevators where I live.
I forgot how good I have it.
A mask is as effective at stopping the WuFlu virus as underwear is at stopping a fart. Good luck with that!
The only thing I think when I see someone wearing a face mask is that guy is a MORON! Of course, it’s possible he’s wearing the mask because he’s a politically inspired liberal. The moron label still works.
Are you paying attention?
I’ve only worn a mask once and that was when I visited my primary care doctor. That’s it. Not required when I visit my barber or when going to church!
Even during a follow up visit to my orthopedic surgeon no mask required although all the patients were wearing one, except for me of course.
Get yourself a cheap Pulse Oxymeter from your local pharmacy. ($15-$30+)
Put it on your finger and check your blood oxygen level.
Now put on your favorite mask, and just breath for a while.
Note your Oxy level after 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes.
15 minutes walking in a store with a common procedure mask brought my Dad to tunnel vision level with sweating and tremors.
Now when he's forced to wear one, we have the kind with exhalation valves, to reduce CO2 re-breathing.
It's better, but his blood oxy level still drops a few percent while masked.
(I'm pulling the valve flapper and the N99 filter out of another, to make a Stealth Breathable version.)

The “impeachment” turned out to be the first phase in the trifecta of the plan to destroy Trump.
Simple as that.
Flu then riots.
What will be the fourth act?
Some woman in the grocery store tried to mask shame me. I told her I didn’t have to wear one for medical reasons, which is a bald faced lie. The bitch asked me what medical condition I had. I said it’s none of your fu##ing business Karen did you ever hear of the Hippa laws. She immediately turned and practically ran away.
It does not, but your exhaled virus cells do not travel as far if you cough or sneeze inside a mask. Without a mask your sneeze can spread virus 15 feet away as airborne. With mask on, may be 2 to 3 feet.
So the header should be “Does NOT Wearing a Mask Mean You Are Smarter Than Those Who Do?” It’s nearing the point of being labeled racis’ for not wearing one.
It is an IQ test. If you are wearing the usual mask I see, you are an idiot. They do NOT protect you from viruses and are therefore pointless.
Was the Lone Ranger smarter than Tonto?
I can’t hear - but can read speech very well - someone ( store clerk) was trying to tell me to put my cloth mask on my nose (not happening, I couldn’t breathe) ... She lower her mask and yelled... I lowered mine, and laughed at her... She was flustered...
Most physicians I know do not wear masks outside of work
