Imagine if it was just generic springs, suitable for any number of applications? A “box o’ springs” sounds a lot less intimidating, doesn’t it?
In past, enthusiastic police have discovered “bomb making materials” like spooled copper wire, duct tape, road flares, roofing nails, a can of gasoline for a lawnmower, and household cleaners in someone’s home and vehicles. Which obviously means they were going to make bombs with them.
Yes, could be counterfeit cheap parts. Hopefully a non critical part like a full-auto selector for a double barrel shotgun. It would be bad to get a counterfeit $10 bolt carrier assembly for an AR-10/308.
If this DOJ was smart they’d turn it over to the US Marshals.

Depends on what they are. If theyre AK parts, they might be preferable to American made.
What is an “assault” weapon? And if a firearm is not an “assault” weapon, it is not possible for it to be used in an assault?
The word “assault” literally means “make a physical attack on.” I would think you could use anything to assault someone. But only certain firearms can be used to commit “assaults”?
Actually, ebay is known for that, also. You take your life in your hands, buying parts from that den of thieves...
