The Daily Mail has reported that The Rolling Stones are threatening President Donald Trump with legal action over the use of the band's songs at his rallies despite their objections.
The classic Rolling Stones hit 'You Can´t Always Get What You Want' from 1969 can be heard many times at Trump's events throughout the country.
According to the Daily Mail report, the band's legal team is working with the BMI music rights organization to stop the use of their songs as part of President Trump's campaign.
In an official announcement the band wrote: 'The BMI have notified the Trump campaign on behalf of the Stones that the unauthorized use of their songs will constitute a breach of its licensing agreement. If Donald Trump disregards the exclusion and persists, then he would face a lawsuit for breaking the embargo and playing music that has not been licensed.´
This is not the first time the band has complained about the use of their songs. ...

Maybe he should play Brown Sugar.
Let them defend that.
There are lots more artists who have asked him to stop using songs.
Foreign interference in our election!
I thought that if you pay some kind of royalty an “artist” can’t prevent what Trump’s doing.
You Can’t Always Get is a mature, philosophical song, antithetical to snowflakes and their tantrums. Brown Sugar, to the extent that I understand a word of it is about having sex with a black girl.
BMI and ASCAP paid? Meh!
Not if they have a good licensing agreement! Wonder if Mick’s lips ever read Art of the Deal!
As if anybody could understand what Jagger was singing anyways:
Gold Coast slave ship bound for cotton fields
Sold in the market down in New Orleans
Scarred old slaver knows he’s doin’ all right
Hear him whip the women just around midnight
Brown Sugar, how come you taste so good
Brown Sugar, just like a young girl should
They’d better be prepared to give back the money to the hundreds of millions of conservatives who have bought their records over the past 50 years.
If I own their record, I can play it wherever I want.
They don’t want conservatives to play their records? Fine, then don’t sell your records to conservatives.
Change it up. A few bars from “Beast of Burden” might get the crowd shaking.

So then do it. Oh wait, he paid the fee to use the song so you no longer have any control over it. Never mind.
Can’t stop him. Normally I would say a Repub should just stop anyways, but I am so sick of hearing the whiners that I think Trump should play it more now. *$%! ‘em!
I was gonna say, “What are they gonna do - whack him with their canes?”
Then I realized: he’s their age...
Use classical music.
Maybe he should play Brown Sugar.
Let them defend that.
EXACTLY!
OR, Monkey Man (one of the best openings...the Stones had a lot of great openings)

I am just a monkey man and I’m glad you are a monkey woman too.
MLM...we’re all monkeys on this Prison Planet of the Apes.
Let he who is without sin, kill the first stone.
Watch out Mick. Keith is invincible.
How does a business decide who is allowed to buy their product?
The contract states with the publishing company gives the artist the right to reject certain usages.
however if copyright laws were as they were originally intended this would not even be an issue.
Thanks Micky
Yeah. I don’t see any calls to ban the Rolling Stones.
Oooops...racist!
THEY shouldn’t have started this crap now people will look at their lyrics
