Ray Ciccarelli announced the end of his NASCAR career Wednesday following NASCAR's decision to allow kneeling during the national anthem and to ban Confederate flags from all events.
Ciccarelli, 50, posted this message to Facebook:
Well its been a fun ride and dream come true but if this is the direction Nascar is headed we will not participate after the 2020 season is over , I don't believe in kneeling during Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly whatever flag they love. I could care less about the Confederate Flag but there are ppl that do and it doesn't make them a racist all you are doing is f***one group to cater to another and i aint spend the money we are to participate in any political BS!! So everything is for SALE!!

Granted, the truck series is at the low end of NASCAR's totem pole, but there are around 60 drivers in the series, most of them working for minimum wage. Nice of the NASCAR brass to tell them how much they don't matter.
At least he was in the game.
I am not a Southerner. Actually some Southerners probably would call me a Damned Yankee because I reside in this Liberal Cesspool known as Connecticut.
But I believe in Freedom of speech and if Nascar doesn't like it than the public should do what they have the Right to do.
Spend their money elsewhere and Boycott Nascar until they rescind that anti Rebel Flag decision.
NASCAR has been Africanized.
Buba better watch his 6 while running at 150.
Sounds like a Patriot to me
If you can be black and riot and loot and burn and pillage, you should be able to exercise free speech by waving the stars and bars
BLM be damned
Why should any one be offended?
I’m offended by BLM supporters actually being
Solzhenitsyn - A loss of courage may be the most striking feature which an outside observer notices in the West in our days. From ancient times a decline in courage has been considered the first symptom of the end.
The American Automobile Association used to sponsor stock car racing, as they did Indianapolis 500 and various other venues such as the Pan-America Carrera Mexican Road Race, but withdrew when the fatalities grew a great deal of negative publicity. NASCAR was formed when there was still a demand for organized track racing, concentrating on the use of “stock” cars, actually highly modified vehicles that only had the shell of the particular make of automobile over a totally rebuilt interior and running gear.
In 1949 and 1950 AAA permitted only the use of cars straight out of the showroom, and Oldsmobile 88s and later, Hudson Hornets dominated the field.
I was born in Daytona Beach, and a teenager during the beach-road races era. My home was in the next block from the NASCAR headquarters, and three blocks from Bill France’s house. My sister went to school with Bill Jr. She and I both worked for NACAR photograghers during the races in the various towers. No doubt Bill France is giving Steve Phelps some really potent haunting these days.
He might have be a nobody, but I imagine that he still finished ahead of Bubba Wallace.
Dirt tracks exist all over the country. They started years ago in small towns. They dont need NASCAR . Doubt if much interest exists in the big city for this type of racing.
Thank you for saying what many are feeling. Sick of the baby snowflakes that get their panties in a twist because some people are fed up with this shite!
He wont be the only one quitting. Millions of fans will follow.
NASCAR will make hoaxer Bubba Wallace their favorite Driver.
How many contests is he now going to win?
He sounds like a man-a real man-reminding people that the 1st amendment is for everyone-not just the PC-I hope his remarks shame more guys to take their balls out of their wife’s purse-or move out of mom’s basement if they are single-we need more real men to speak up...
Nice, from an Italian....but, an OLD driver, so not sure this would have much impact anyway. Don’t know the name so must not have been over-prominent and probably would retire soon anyway.
NASCAR has forgotten its roots.
20 races over 4 years in the Truck series.
Part timer at best. But he tried.
“Sounds like a dirty mouthed loser.”
Sounds like an American patriot to me.
