How’s about FED GOVT just red budget to all states that have the sanctuary cities in first place and to those that have cut their police budges or have done away with there police departments? Also, if you have emptied your prisons you get still less money and have a back log of trail dates-less money, or lower conviction rates-less money, or high drop out rates from schools-parents get vouchers for private school or home school and state gets less money for public ED?

Don’t know but rent and real estate in NYC is real high so it will be good to have it come down some. Regardless of the drop in rents I wouldn’t live anywhere in the northeast.

Seems nobody has noticed that supporters of this actually are not opposed to crime. I’ve discussed with a number online, and it’s clear (between them & other news) they literally don’t see crime as a problem to be solved & eradicated. They literally view police as a threat to their accepted way of life. They themselves may not be criminals, but so many of their friends and family are that they side against police.
Ultra upscale properties won’t change. You’d have to see three or four years of lesser police coverage, increased robberies and assaults....to influence them.
Now, if we are talking regular tourism (before Covid-19)? They would be affected within six months....with increased assaults or attacks. But let’s be honest, tourism in NY City is screwed because of the virus, for rest of 2020, and probably most of 2021.

cut welfare funding ...
repeal all gun control laws ...

NYC will become one hell of shi! house to never visit. California is already the example of a lost land of the free and is getting worst. Perfect examples of States that the Republicans won’t fight.
The ultra upscale properties were the places that wealthy foreigners invested as a secure depository for their wealth. US law respects property rights unlike many foreign places. Somehow doubt that wealthy Chinese and others will continue to invest in urban American real estate run by Democrats. Right now there are bidding wars for some choice suburban residential properties. IMHO some interesting trends are evolving.
