I remember and episode of O'Reilly on Fox in which Bill debated an obvious staged throwdown guest. O'Reilly had decided he was going on a rant about something (I think it was judges going easy on child molesters) and he needed somebody to yell at. They brought on some poor schmuck to try to argue with O'Reilly when you could tell they guy's heart wasn't in it. I see Juan as the same as that guy. He says incredibly stupid stuff because that's what he is paid to do.
Years ago, Juan Williams let it slip that his Mom voted for Bush, and has on more than one occasion mentioned his family is pretty Conservative.
I think he is, too, but has become so good at being “outnumbered” on The Five that both he and the other show members realize the role he plays helps support the show’s good ratings. Yet, off camera, I suspect that he is the kind of father and husband most people would really respect and love.
That said, there are times when his defence of the Demonrat party becomes TOTALLY intolerable!
