WASHINGTON -- Joe Biden’s campaign says a little more than a third of its senior staff are people of color, sharing staff diversity data after facing pressure to answer questions on the issue.
The campaign said that 36% of its senior staff are people of color, but did not disclose how much of its overall campaign staff are people of color. The campaign also noted that women are in the majority of both the campaign’s senior staff and its full staff.
The candidate has faced warnings from activists that he must be careful not to take the Black community for granted. Black voters helped deliver him the nomination, and will be key to his White House hopes this fall.
Biden has faced questions over the diversity of his staff since the Democratic primary, but the questions have reemerged in recent weeks as the nation has plunged into a discussion surrounding systemic racism and criminal justice reform.
Biden has promised his administration will “look like America,” and has pledged to choose a woman as his running mate and a black woman as his first Supreme Court nominee.

I really hope this is the case. In fact, he should increase the number. Then he will be doomed to utter failure. (Yes, I am trying to be both racist and sexist at the same time!)
Is that statistic important to intellegent mature voters? doesn’t highlighting one color over another make you racist? so bidens campaign is racist?
Does this count people who are one quarter people of color?
How about one eighth?
One sixteenth?
This racism stuff is so complicated!
So we now pick candidates based on genetics.
Does that include people who self-identify as a person of color, or are 64% albinos?!?
Is that senior staff or a count of nurse’s aises in his basement care facility?
We have watched Martin Luther King not be pushed to the back of the bus but underneath it. Sick.
