(CNN)The University of Oregon and Oregon State University have shelved the phrase "Civil War," which players and fans alike used to refer to games between the two rivals.
"Changing this name is overdue as it represents a connection to a war fought to perpetuate slavery," said OSU President Ed Ray in a statement Friday.

Because the “Civil War” was bad m’kay. It freed the slaves and all m’kay.
They just know what is coming - and it’s not going to be a game.
As someone who attended both schools, I never liked calling that game the Civil War anyway. Not because of any racist connotation (never even imagined such a thing, in fact), but because it trivializes the Civil War.
I hope not.
