The empire of Rome was destroyed from within and the empire of Twitter is falling in the same way.
The social media giant has caused a tidal wave of an exodus to its more conservative competitor Parler after it deleted two popular conservative accounts and began adding disclaimers to the tweets of President Donald Trump.
This week alone, according to analytics researched by Mediate, around a half a million people have migrated to Parler.
The increase brings the total number of accounts on the platform, which was co-founded in 2018 by John Matze and Jared Thomson, to 1.5 million.
Parler is a non-biased free speech driven entity. Our goal is to offer the world a platform that protects users rights, supports publishers and builds online communities, the website says of itself.
Parler aims to empower users to control their social experience. Users can be responsible to engage content as they see fit. We are not regulators. We are not governors. We are a community, it says.
Parler accepts your right to express your thoughts, opinions and ideals online. Just like in society, Parler interactions are subject to guidelines; and when you respect them, you are free to participate wholly, it says.
The account surge came after Twitter banned well-known meme-maker Carpe Donktum and locked National Pulse editor Raheem Kassams account.
It also came after Twitter put a disclaimer on a tweet from President Trump that said There will never be an Autonomous Zone in Washington, D.C., as long as Im your President. If they try they will be met with serious force!

Me too. I closed Twitter years ago. I really like Parler.
Because, a cell phone is NOT required to join or use Parler as you stated.
I’ve been on Parler for over a year without using any phone app to do so.
All empires and monopolies end up falling due to internal sclerosis and a more agile competitor emerging onto the scene.
Google and facebook will also go down, for the same reason.
It’s the only thing the ill-informed people do they don’t know how to think for them self.
Many of us techies were SCREAMING for pubbies to be involved in the internet in the 90s and we were laughed at! Every elected republican can FOAD! WE WERE SCREAMING IN THE 90s! Pubbies scoffed us off as whiners and now all of us are paying for it!
And soon there will be many Leftist “plants” posting all kinds of racist BS.
Thanks for letting me know about Parlor, however, I like starting on this db even if I am not the biggest conservative you will ever meet.
I signed up Parler two days ago.
I used my PC (Ubuntu) with the Chrome browser to sign up. Used my Google Voice phone# for the SMS message Parler sends to confirm.
Worked perfectly.
Because we owned talk radio and Fox News.
It won't last long then. You have to have some bias, or you'll just have extremists taking over.
Ping to post 16!
The companies doing the banning and hiding of posts are not interested in free speech.
If they were they would add a Hide button next to a username so the snowflakes do not melt upon seeing their posts.
Joined today. About as easy as Twitter. Helps if you already know Twitter.
I just started sniping on twitter. Things were being censored but there is a huge awaking there regardless. They can’t stop the memes with out human reporting.
I see Parler as a way to get conservatives off twitter.
Twitter is a cesspool. Nothing but a bunch of ignorant angry hateful liberals.
yep and people “echoing” it.
