The California Legislature just removed the Civil Rights protections from the California State Constitution
California Legislature Bill ACA5 ^ | 22 June 2020 | California Legislature

It looks like California just outlawed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 for the California government by striking the civil rights protections from their state Constitution:

https://openstates.org/ca/bills/20192020/ACA5/

ABSTRACT

The California Constitution, pursuant to provisions enacted by the initiative Proposition 209 in 1996, prohibits the state from discriminating against, or granting preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting. The California Constitution defines the state for these purposes to include the state, any city, county, public university system, community college district, school district, special district, or any other political subdivision or governmental instrumentality of, or within, the state. This measure would repeal these provisions. The measure would also make a statement of legislative findings in this regard."

It looks like this Democrat sponsored bill passed the California Assembly (Ayes 60. Noes 14.) on Jun 10th and the Senate (Ayes 30. Noes 10.) on June 22nd. That would make it law in California.

Isn’t that a violation of the Civil Rights act of 1964?

"The Civil Rights Act of 1964(Pub.L. 88–352, 78 Stat. 241, enacted July 2, 1964) is a landmark civil rights and labor law in the United States that outlaws discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex,[a]or national origin.[4] It prohibits unequal application of voter registration requirements, and racial segregation in schools, employment, and public accommodations.”

Furthermore the Supreme Court just ruled on this extending the protections to additional groups:

"In June 2020, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in Bostock v. Clayton County and two other cases[b]that employment protections against discrimination on the basis of sex also apply to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.[6]”

So they actually did it. Repealed 209?

We voted for 187 and 209.

Both shredded now?

Funny how there was no coverage. Had to wait for a convenient pandemic.

It sure looks like they shredded it. I posted this in Breaking News, because it seems darn important to me and it is recent. I don’t know why it was taken out of the Breaking News section where people would see it.

They can’t give preferential treatment to blacks, i.e. reparations to blacks only, and discriminate against whites while this is on the books. Although the former was done incessantly and without disregard for the rule of law. More states will follow this. However, if this is the case, then end all preferential black-only programs now, i.e. only scholarships for black students and open them up for all students.

Undoubtedly the State Supreme Court will rubber stamp it under the foreign freek Cantil Sakawaka-Wookie or whatever her name is.

And the SCOTUS?

Roberts will come out with some mealy mouthed happy talk that mimics the talking points his Rat handler gives him and that will be it: Screw Whitey, wherever he is.

What this legislation does is return race and gender based hiring preferences for state agencies. Where before no such preferential treatment was allowed. It is a rejection of Proposition 209 (which I think was voter passed)that proposition basically ended affirmative action policies in state hiring decisions since it banned preferential treatment as well as prohibiting discrimination against protected classes. So the legislature just spit on the will of the people.

Aren’t Whites now a minority in Cali?

New census data shows that under 16 year old whites are the minority.
