actually, very true. China is mostly a conservative culture and most of the Chinese fleeing communist China do so to escape the communism there (they do not want to see it here). Mexico is very largely a conservative culture, too. (That many of the above vote D here is largely because the D party reaches out to them whereas nobody else usually does.)
Many of them are politically apathetic. Those that are politicized think in terms of racial or ethnic identity politics and vote on those issues rather than on culture or economics.
And as far as economic issues are concerned, Mesoamerican immigrants and their children tend to be low income and benefit for liberal social programs.

I never really saw Hispanics as the enemy. All of the ones that I’ve worked with has a good work ethic and loved their kids. I did not a similar experiences with all minorities. Although, even then 90% were good folk.

Your post assumes that Bush and his brand of Republicans would have wanted to end mass immigration from the Third World. You know as well as I do that he and his ilk are perfectly happy that there are more Joses and Marias being born in the US today than Joes and Marys - they provide cheap labor for his constituents, and as for the social damage their culture of poverty and crime causes, heck, only the little people have to deal with the consequences of that, not the important elites that count. They just reap the rewards.
